About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Overall I really enjoyed The Outer Worlds 2. It's one of those games you can take your time and try to find every piece of content or just barrel through if in a rush. Though given the breath of the story and the number of hidden items or puzzles, I don't recommend this until you have played it fully at least once! I had no performance issues with the game. Thoughts: *There were some stand out pieces of kit you could find both in armor, helmets and weapons. In fact the weapons were much better than the ones in the first game so it was well worth the search. *I enjoyed the story, particularly the latter parts. I really took my time in game so it is possible my satisfying ending related to that level of care. If you fly through you are going to take easy outs and miss a lot. Particularly because the early story is confusing with explanations coming for it in dribs and drabs throughout the rest of the game. *Marisul was my favorite team member, very well written, just wish I had access to her sooner. The others were okay but harder to connect to so I just picked my second team member based on what I would need in a particular area. *There is build diversity. As a first run I did not max out anything as I held back points and assigned when I understood what would be good or needed to get through a particular area. Even assigning using that technique locked me out of a few vaults and some dialogue choices though not a huge number. I hate being locked out of choices. I can imagine this would really bother some people if something important was missed as a result. *I found the stealth in game just got to a point it was way too difficult to attempt so I quit trying part way through the Vox Relay. You need to be able to disable the target swiftly and having items that took 2 or more hits meant you always were heard. Particularly as the enemy density in the Relay was high.
A Wonderful RPG from start to finish. If I am honest, I don't think the story of this game is better than the first Outer Worlds, but this one is worth playing. It's excellent. This game is also chalk full of Fallout references than the first game initially had (Gary, The Power Armor, The Radio). Just don't go into this game expecting a Bethesda style adventure. As far as I know from my normal playthrough you don't have the option to sleep in beds and the game play almost reminds me of Bioshock in certain aspects. A sort of joke I had while playing this game was that this is practically a modern day Sega Genesis RPG (kinda like Phantasy Star). Still an incredible piece of work that Obsidian has made. A bit underappreciated in the current market. Highly recommend. 4/5 Stars.
It’s ambitious. There’s a lot more to do than The Outer Worlds and yet, I find myself thinking this is substantially weaker than the first entry. The gameplay is improved and I liked the perks quite a bit and there’s a good number of side content that I actually quite enjoyed. But that being said, I just could not care about the plot or these characters. I compare this game to Horizon: Zero Dawn because feel it’s quite similar to The Outer Worlds 2 in terms of how I feel about it. Why do I give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything that’s going on in this game? I do not care about these characters at ALL. I loved The Outer Worlds but I do not love The Outer Worlds 2. It’s not getting an overall negative score because of the positives I listed above. But this is the most disappointing gaming experience of 2026 for me thus far. By the time I got to the last explorable planet, I speedran the game. I just wanted it to be over. I could’ve easily had 40+ hours in this game. 6/10 STARS
I liked the gameplay and thought the main story and side quests were well worth the discounted price I paid
