[h1]Game Review: The Operator[/h1] [b]Playtime:[/b] 4h [b]Status:[/b] Completed The Operator is incredibly fun for its short four-hour runtime. It is perfect for people who enjoy puzzles and want to feel intelligent while connecting clues. The gameplay is simple, satisfying, and immediately hooks you. The story builds tension well, and the music supports the atmosphere perfectly. For most of the game, it feels like you have many possible paths. Unfortunately, that is mostly an illusion. [spoiler]The story is completely linear, there is only one ending, and it arrives abruptly without a satisfying payoff.[/spoiler] That leaves a bad aftertaste, even though the four hours before it were great. [b]7/10 — excellent short-term fun, disappointing ending.[/b]

Это самые иммерсивные 4 час моей игровой жизни. Почувствуй себя Гарсией из Criminal minds в сеттинге Секретных материалов, честное слово. Для фанатов жанра (не игрового, а вообще - расследования, заговоры, вот это все). Потные ладошки гарантированы, вотэтоповорот в конце прилагается. Хотя, я догадалась. Но все равно, 10/10

The game was surprisingly shorter than I had expected it to be. It took me about 3 hours to complete. At first the game and story were very engaging. I really enjoyed the idea of having access to pretty much all information and having the ability to do face and image scans from videos and photographs. However, it became a little less enjoyable as the actual storyline for the game kicked in pretty much full force when you meet the main character. You're then just forced to jump through whatever hoops the game holds out in front of you whether you want or not. The investigation then becomes annoyingly predictable and the game becomes less fun. The way the trailer looked it seemed like you would be pretty busy and very involved in your workload, but you get maybe 2 work days of fun investigating. I'm honestly not sure if I would recommend this game at full price. I got it on sale for about $8 and would probably say it's worth about that if not less. This wouldve been so much cooler if there were more caseloads that didn't have anything to do with the story's 'hidden' agenda or just not as obvious about it. Even better if it had an completely separate option of play that was a set number of cases to try and solve just for fun. In the end, no, I don't think this is a good enough for $14. If you want it, get it on sale.
