About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization
Interface with a retro computer
Manage a user-driven dictionary
Design radio transmissions by frequency
Collaborate with scientists that respond to your actions
+1000 in-game dialogues
+30 minutes OST
+30 hours of gameplay
Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

This game is wonderful, I'm so invested in learning all about this alien species that decided to try and contact Earth. Scratches all the right itches for me.
I have never known I needed a math puzzle game until now. Highly recommend to everyone. This game breaks down and teaches math and language principles better than any high school course could. Thank you so much for this game and apologies to my college because this has stepped up my expectations for hands on learning. But also it's a great game too, not just number munchers or whatever.

If you ever read Contact (or watched/read Arrival or Project Hail Mary) and thought the language negotiation was interesting but wanted to know more, this game is for you. I'm sure I read about a maths/science paper from the seventies suggesting the approach the aliens take in this game - establish ideas through sequences, patterns, maths, and repetition. Deciphering it is very difficult but very rewarding. The messages at the end of act 2 feel like such an incredible achievement despite their apparent simplicity. Try the demo! The save carries on to the real game if you buy, and it has more than enough content to tell you if you like it
This is one of the most inventive, fun, and heartfelt games I've played in a long time. I promise it is so much more than math homework; it is a beautiful celebration of language, intelligence, and life. The passion and creativity that went into making this game is palpable, and the well-written characters are so lovable and help keep the emotional heart of the game beating. I easily give this game an 8/8
Really enjoying the game so far, but the soundtrack NEEDS to be uploaded to spotify. It would make great study beats.
Insanely Charming. Awesome experience.
This game is easily on my top 10 list of favorite games of all time, maybe top 3 even. It's so fantastic. It's scientifically accurate as far as I can tell, if we were ever contacted by aliens or vice versa, this is how first communication would actually go. And even better than that - this is a genuinely fun (and exciting, if you're into space and exobiology) puzzle game to play. Maybe I'm the bullseye of the target niche of this game, but I highly, highly reccomend it
Go in as blind as you can. Try the demo first in case you can't get along with the puzzles, but then restart (so you can enjoy them again) when you buy the game. I'm nearly 15 hours in, plus another hour spent in the demo, and I am in love. This is my GOTY so far and I don't see it being beaten.
