The Magister is a really neat mix of detective work and RPG mechanics that kept me hooked longer than I expected. The randomized cases make each run feel fresh, and I liked piecing together clues while balancing skills and time. Combat is simple but does the job, and the story choices add some replay value. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy mystery-solving with a bit of strategy.
Good game about crime solving. First time, solved crime with 100 % proof, Second time, solved with 70 % proof, accused wrong person. Do not be sloppy!

You play as a medieval fantasy Judge Dredd. One of your colleagues has been murdered while investigating in a remote provincial town, and you have been assigned to track down his killer. Interrogate suspects. Fight monsters and bandits. Do favors and quests for the suspects until they trust you enough to open up. The murder mystery is randomly generated, so there is some element of replayability here.
Tentative yes, but only for the right, tactically minded patient reader. I apparently accused the wrong person and went on a(nother) murderous rampage until they captured me and put me to death. To be fair, she did try to murder me with cultists and evil elementals. I think that counts. Not a quick and exciting game, but kind of slow fun, like a procedural murder-mystery short story, with tactical deck-building mini battles. More cards and starting loadout unlocked as you go, with harder completion achievements. You will need to play thru at least 3 times to get achievements. Maybe more, as some might be hard to stack.
every time when i want play further my savegames are gone. So i must start over and over again. Not with me. Junk and crap game. Not even worth on sale.
Really, really liked that game. Its a rouge like deck builder where you fight classic monsters but also do diplomacy battles to avoid fights or get informations to progess. + You get a detective story with clues to use right but the game takes your hand and is quite nice to help you with theses clues if you at least read a bit^^. Realy well made done concept/genra mix. The graphics while simple are well made done same counts for the music and the setting. So Game and Story simple put: You are in a fantasy setting where you are a Magister a kind of Inspector who is called to solve a murder. You have a timewindow of 14 days. In thes 14 days you ask questions, collect evidence, grade your self up, fight and talk. Partly via cards and dialogs. The game runs on nearly any pc even from the early 2000s. The game is very fair at least for your 1rst playthrough. I get the point of critique for a rougelite "problem". Every new game doesnt give you any of your old skills so its simply a harder version then the first that you likely will do in your 1st paythrough. The rougelite aspect only fits the fact, that you always have new murderer and different aspects of cards you can collect and use. Full price is a bit heavy but even 50% is worth the price as long as you like rouge card-rpg fantasy-detective games.
