Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Sep 7 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative role-playing game telling the story of a cruel world, where lawbreaking is met with severe punishment, and a crown prince must decide the destiny of the land. Whether you rule maintaining the old order, or create a new future is up to you.
In the Great Arknian Empire, everyone’s life is determined by their birth. Such is the ultimate law laid down by the Twins, stern gods who divided society into Lots. The clergy shows people the right path, the nobles rule, and the commoners’ Lot is working and suffering in obedience. Your fate, however, is very different: to be the chosen of the gods, become their tool, and govern the entire nation.
You, Prince Jerian of the Tempest, must embark on a lifelong journey: starting as a child unaware of his destiny, and becoming an emperor for whose role you have been preparing since birth. As a crown prince, you will have to understand your country and its culture, but also make difficult choices affecting the fragile balance of powers in the Empire, and yourself.
Developed by the creators of The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the events of this new game take place in the same universe, but tell a completely different story. While The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian inherits existing gameplay features, it also contains new mechanics reflecting the protagonist’s role and traits.

As a future ruler, you must learn the current state of the Empire. The treasury is running dry as the estates rise one against another, fighting for their interests. The church withers and sows hatred among the people, noble houses aspire to keep the old traditions, and commoners demand equal rights with the nobility. Pay attention to these circumstances and decide the country’s path while chasing your own goals.

The time will come, and the Emperor’s scepter will lie in your hands, but you feel its weight even now. You have to act immediately: you are the only one able to change the course of history, to unite or shatter the country. Make difficult choices that affect the nation and you alike. Promises given to yourself might become your most unbearable burden. Every decision brings consequences, and your mistakes will be paid for by the entire Empire.

You were given power by birth, but the cost of such majesty is your own ambition. You are shackled not only by the outside world and its circumstances, but also by your soul. Thinking of who you are, who you want to be, and who the Empire wants to see in you, such is your lot. Making a choice of your own requires a sacrifice. Following the political situation and your family’s demands might drive you mad. Will you save yourself or allow your soul to shatter into pieces?

Be careful in choosing your allies: those who you keep close will shape your character and affect your decisions. Your family, your subjects, nobles and commoners alike, every single one wants your attention and patronage. Help one, and you will lose the support of another. Whether you succeed in maintaining the fragile balance of the Empire or let it all burn down in civil war will be decided by you.

Not only are you the crown prince, but also the Primate, who connects the worlds of the living and the divine. You and your family of the Tempest are the keepers of the Pact, a “testament” between the Twins and those who live by their will. Can it be changed without dooming the world? You will find the answer yourself.

The power that you possess is not an end, but a means. You are destined to save the world entrusted to you by your ancestors and gods. What future awaits the New Empire, and who will benefit? Whose sufferings will end, and whose will begin? Only time will tell.

TLDR: Play the first game, Sir Brante, first and if you find yourself really enjoying that game, play Prince Jerian Sir Brante has more to sink your teeth into but this game is still a welcome addition to the story that started with that game. The Radical Reformist path, aka the Good Guy path, was satisfying to achieve but just like Sir Brante the game truly shines when you decide to be evil. Some of this ♥♥♥♥ is absolutely demented. It never fully reaches the heights of something like the Path of Will but the Tyranny of the Tempests gets very close. I've seen lots of criticisms of the characters compared to Sir Brante and I just don't know what people are talking about. The characters in this game are just as fantastic. I might actually like them more. The Council is one of the best parts of the game. I never ceased to find joy in ragebaiting Aegerious Monrogue and Terentious Orgrif. The systems of the game is where I begin to agree with detractors. Sir Brante's systems were more simple but worked just fine. This game is overwhelming. By Chapter 4 you need to manage your three personality meters, three skill meters, your sanity currency, your legacy currency, your relationships with over 15 characters, the Council Obedience meter, a Rebellion meter which kills you if it hits 10, three different political meters which increase Rebellion if they go too far left or right, 6 different estates with a reputation and power meter and finally your own estates power. It's a lot to keep track of but what really makes it frustrating is that Rebellion meter. You can experience these horrific snowballs where you piss off an estate which increases rebellion but that results in a political meter going too far left or right resulting in even more rebellion and then you get a newspaper which gives you rebellion and now you're at 10 and you're dead and need to restart the chapter. It's extremely punishing and sadly these games have such delicate balancing that fixing it would require restructuring the entire thing. It can feel satisfying to finally survive Chapter 4 when you finally find that sweet spot of choices but I can't blame anyone who finds it tedious. My recommendation is to play the first game and if you're mesmerized by the world of Life and Suffering like I was, squeeze Sir Brante dry of every little secret. Once you've done that, if you're still thirsty, play Prince Jerian.

8/10 Even better than the first game. The world building is still a 10/10. But you need to be aware what kind of game it is, and if you like this kinde of story games.
I much preffered Sir Brante here its yet another game about being a king but boring and very unfair. The game is not allowing you to make decisions that doesnt suit its story. It is also hard and while I understand this can be a good thing (ruling is hard an all) but I appreciate when game lets the player continue with their bad choices and suffer consequances, but here it ends and makes you replay whole chapter so you can abandon your playstyle and do more math on how many points you can loose. I'm sorry but when game pushes you to do something and even forces you because as I mentioned doing something against your character also makes you loose, and then says you lost because you upset more than one faction (out of 6) it is annoying. I menaged to replay one chapter twice but when on third try just by the end suddenly a game drops on me 4 events where all I can do is loose I closed the game and am not planning on returning to it anytime soon. It is unfortunate because while Life and suffering of Sir Brante wasnt perfect it had something that made me remember it and buy this game, now I wish I didnt.
