Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Sep 7 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative role-playing game telling the story of a cruel world, where lawbreaking is met with severe punishment, and a crown prince must decide the destiny of the land. Whether you rule maintaining the old order, or create a new future is up to you.
In the Great Arknian Empire, everyone’s life is determined by their birth. Such is the ultimate law laid down by the Twins, stern gods who divided society into Lots. The clergy shows people the right path, the nobles rule, and the commoners’ Lot is working and suffering in obedience. Your fate, however, is very different: to be the chosen of the gods, become their tool, and govern the entire nation.
You, Prince Jerian of the Tempest, must embark on a lifelong journey: starting as a child unaware of his destiny, and becoming an emperor for whose role you have been preparing since birth. As a crown prince, you will have to understand your country and its culture, but also make difficult choices affecting the fragile balance of powers in the Empire, and yourself.
Developed by the creators of The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the events of this new game take place in the same universe, but tell a completely different story. While The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian inherits existing gameplay features, it also contains new mechanics reflecting the protagonist’s role and traits.

As a future ruler, you must learn the current state of the Empire. The treasury is running dry as the estates rise one against another, fighting for their interests. The church withers and sows hatred among the people, noble houses aspire to keep the old traditions, and commoners demand equal rights with the nobility. Pay attention to these circumstances and decide the country’s path while chasing your own goals.

The time will come, and the Emperor’s scepter will lie in your hands, but you feel its weight even now. You have to act immediately: you are the only one able to change the course of history, to unite or shatter the country. Make difficult choices that affect the nation and you alike. Promises given to yourself might become your most unbearable burden. Every decision brings consequences, and your mistakes will be paid for by the entire Empire.

You were given power by birth, but the cost of such majesty is your own ambition. You are shackled not only by the outside world and its circumstances, but also by your soul. Thinking of who you are, who you want to be, and who the Empire wants to see in you, such is your lot. Making a choice of your own requires a sacrifice. Following the political situation and your family’s demands might drive you mad. Will you save yourself or allow your soul to shatter into pieces?

Be careful in choosing your allies: those who you keep close will shape your character and affect your decisions. Your family, your subjects, nobles and commoners alike, every single one wants your attention and patronage. Help one, and you will lose the support of another. Whether you succeed in maintaining the fragile balance of the Empire or let it all burn down in civil war will be decided by you.

Not only are you the crown prince, but also the Primate, who connects the worlds of the living and the divine. You and your family of the Tempest are the keepers of the Pact, a “testament” between the Twins and those who live by their will. Can it be changed without dooming the world? You will find the answer yourself.

The power that you possess is not an end, but a means. You are destined to save the world entrusted to you by your ancestors and gods. What future awaits the New Empire, and who will benefit? Whose sufferings will end, and whose will begin? Only time will tell.

Disregard the speds with fried attention spans mass downvoting the game cause they are too braindead to work out the mechanics. If you came back for some good dark fantasy gritty storytelling, then you will be happy to know that this sequel delivers the same compelling dynamics and narrative of its predecessor. The Arknians are presented in a realistic, “historical” light that is clearly inspired by the societal psychologies and self-perceptions of ancient societies at their pinnacle like the Greeks, Romans, Chinese, etc. They are inheritors of greatness who for better or worse have civilized the known world in the story. Some are the embodiment of nobility and greatness while others the embodiment of the excess their privilege breeds. The humans likewise are also portrayed in a very compelling light, as they are justified in their worldview to rebel against their would-be conquerors and oppressors. Similarly some are diligent, humble, hardworking, but their cultural development hinges on mass consumption, quick wealth, and the pursuit of pleasure. All in all, a really decent sequel, and I am satisfied with it, if purely because of the storytelling. 8.5/10, worth it IMO

8/10 Even better than the first game. The world building is still a 10/10. But you need to be aware what kind of game it is, and if you like this kinde of story games.
Great stories. Good art, if some pieces are used a little too often. Got a sort of 'enlightened constitutional monarch' moderate triumph ending. A worthy successor. The mechanics especially in the last two chapters were very fun. I will be trying to get more endings of course. I think a lot of the reviewers are frustrated by the fact that you have to make a lot of hard decisions and sacrifices but I think it makes it stronger really. The world doesn't bend to your will. The insanity mechanic is a good 'compromise' in this regard. Though I will say that sometimes it feels like you yourself also don't bend to your own will with some of the locked choices, which is where some of the frustration comes from. For me I had one of these moments when I couldn't send your half brother on his voyage. But overall it works great as a challenge. I would NOT call this a role playing game, it is a narrative recourse management game, so if any of you reading this think it is about doing whatever you want that is far from the case. If I could change one thing, it would be the following addition: After you finish the story for the first time (unless you die prematurely) you can unlock a feature that lets you go back to more specific parts of each chapter when starting a new game, rather than having to go back to the very beginning of each chapter if you make one mistake on something. Also some of the animated pages are bugged and cause a CTD
Even better than the prequel!
I would say it's worth it. Yes, there is some undisclosed AI slop, no reason for the devs to hide it. On the other hand, the AI art actually isn't that invasive and you will still have a pleasant experience. As for the gameplay, It is definitely similar to sir Brante, but with more mechanics and a little bit more room for your errors. Some outcomes personally felt kinda weird, especially if you get any of the state stats to 10, the outcome felt more like a punishment than a reward. Still, It felt suprisingly easy to get loyalty from the various factions, but maybe I just got lucky with my choices in the earlier chapters.
The only problem I had was the storyline of Flavius... I managed to pass the creed that brought equality of cultures and religions, but I can't stop my brother from becoming a serial killer. That was stupid
