Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Sep 7 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative role-playing game telling the story of a cruel world, where lawbreaking is met with severe punishment, and a crown prince must decide the destiny of the land. Whether you rule maintaining the old order, or create a new future is up to you.
In the Great Arknian Empire, everyone’s life is determined by their birth. Such is the ultimate law laid down by the Twins, stern gods who divided society into Lots. The clergy shows people the right path, the nobles rule, and the commoners’ Lot is working and suffering in obedience. Your fate, however, is very different: to be the chosen of the gods, become their tool, and govern the entire nation.
You, Prince Jerian of the Tempest, must embark on a lifelong journey: starting as a child unaware of his destiny, and becoming an emperor for whose role you have been preparing since birth. As a crown prince, you will have to understand your country and its culture, but also make difficult choices affecting the fragile balance of powers in the Empire, and yourself.
Developed by the creators of The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the events of this new game take place in the same universe, but tell a completely different story. While The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian inherits existing gameplay features, it also contains new mechanics reflecting the protagonist’s role and traits.

As a future ruler, you must learn the current state of the Empire. The treasury is running dry as the estates rise one against another, fighting for their interests. The church withers and sows hatred among the people, noble houses aspire to keep the old traditions, and commoners demand equal rights with the nobility. Pay attention to these circumstances and decide the country’s path while chasing your own goals.

The time will come, and the Emperor’s scepter will lie in your hands, but you feel its weight even now. You have to act immediately: you are the only one able to change the course of history, to unite or shatter the country. Make difficult choices that affect the nation and you alike. Promises given to yourself might become your most unbearable burden. Every decision brings consequences, and your mistakes will be paid for by the entire Empire.

You were given power by birth, but the cost of such majesty is your own ambition. You are shackled not only by the outside world and its circumstances, but also by your soul. Thinking of who you are, who you want to be, and who the Empire wants to see in you, such is your lot. Making a choice of your own requires a sacrifice. Following the political situation and your family’s demands might drive you mad. Will you save yourself or allow your soul to shatter into pieces?

Be careful in choosing your allies: those who you keep close will shape your character and affect your decisions. Your family, your subjects, nobles and commoners alike, every single one wants your attention and patronage. Help one, and you will lose the support of another. Whether you succeed in maintaining the fragile balance of the Empire or let it all burn down in civil war will be decided by you.

Not only are you the crown prince, but also the Primate, who connects the worlds of the living and the divine. You and your family of the Tempest are the keepers of the Pact, a “testament” between the Twins and those who live by their will. Can it be changed without dooming the world? You will find the answer yourself.

The power that you possess is not an end, but a means. You are destined to save the world entrusted to you by your ancestors and gods. What future awaits the New Empire, and who will benefit? Whose sufferings will end, and whose will begin? Only time will tell.

Great game and a worthy successor to the first one!

The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a sequel to The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. The game starts around 10 years before the first game and puts you in the shoes of a completely different character and circumstances. Instead of a Human who has to fight for his path in life, we play as Prince Jerian. We follow him just like Sir Brante from his birth, learning about the world, your family and your place in everything. For people who never played the first one: Stop what you're doing and read the reviews of the first one. I wouldn't recommend playing this without having played the sequel. Not because the story builds upon each other, but because mechanically the first one is more simple and accesible for starters. For people who have played Sir Brante: keep reading. The sequel expands upon the mechanics of the first one. Being locked out of certain choices because you don't meet a skill requirement? Spend a resource that is connected to your ancestors, and let them help you compensate the skill difference. Or are you too loving to make this ruthless decision? Sacrifice your sanity to make a out of character choice. But your psyche will have to suffer the consequences... I've read reviews here that complain about knowing the requirements for certain outcomes or how hard it is to get certain outcomes, but seen as this was already a thing in the first game, i don't really understand it. The lore of the world, especially the religion of the Twins and the Arknian history gets more time to shine this game. No longer do the Arknians feel like special, almost mythical beings like in Sir Brante. Now they feel like just another annoyance to deal with to get what you want. PROS: - More lore - Getting "The most paragon/good ending" is even more difficult now, which is pretty realistic for what you want out of it. - More relationships, stats and skills to keep track off - I feel like there is alot more room to RP and focus on certain paths then there was previous game. - Some scenes really made me emotional because of the connection i built with certain characters, which i did not have in the first game. CONS: - The ending feels reeaaaally rushed. There is a cresendo building up to your actions, but rather than having us take part (even for just a little bit), it gets told in a historical accounting of it, in around 5 pages. They settle the score, measure out your stats and then just tell you what happened... Really disappointing. - You don't really get well informed about the consequences when you the Empire changes drastically in terms of ethics and values. The first time around i got hit by a triple punishment because i reformed the country to be it's extreme opposite of what it was. It ended my playthrough right there and then. I get why people in reviews complain about this mechanic in and of itself, but i do understand why and it made my retry actually more interesting and engaging for it. In conclusion: As a big fan of the first game, i actually really liked this sequel! I'm pretty satisfied with the ending i worked on, and i'm really looking forward to roleplaying different pathways and personas. This really is a setting full of potential. For the devs: Keep the sanity resource in the next game, and maybe try to make a ending more akin to the first one, or of your sequel but not rushed near the end. I can't wait to see what will be next, i really hope for a prequel during the time of the La-Tari, when the Arknians were conquering the continent.
Usually when you get to rule the country it's a strategy game. But here you get to live the life, build relations and also rule the world around you. Unique view to the well known goal.
