The Librarian

[ENG] I purchased The Librarian because I was interested in the author's work, having played The Supper, which is available for free on Steam and which I found genuinely engaging for the way it manages to tell a compelling story in a short short short amount of time. Unfortunately, The Librarian left me disappointed. I struggle to consider it a proper game: player interaction is extremely limited, and the experience ends before it has a chance to develop a real story. Personally, I would have preferred the opposite arrangement: playing The Librarian for free and paying for The Supper. I do not question the effort or creativity behind the project but I do not feel that The Librarian justifies its price. That said, I have still chosen to mark this review as "Recommended." Not because the experience itself convinced me, but because I believe the author has demonstrated talent and creativity. I see this recommendation more as encouragement to keep creating than as an endorsement of this particular title. Proprio per questo, purtroppo, The Librarian mi ha lasciata delusa. Faccio fatica a considerarlo un vero e proprio gioco: l'interazione è molto limitata e l'esperienza si conclude prima di riuscire a sviluppare idee o storie. Personalmente, avrei preferito la situazione opposta: giocare gratuitamente The Librarian come breve esperienza introduttiva per questo mondo dark-fantasy e pagare per The Supper. Non metto in dubbio l'impegno e la creatività dietro entrambi i progetti, ma per contenuti e livello di coinvolgimento non ritengo che il prezzo di The Librarian sia giustificato. Detto questo, scelgo comunque di consigliare questo gioco. Non perché l'esperienza mi abbia convinta, ma perché credo che l'autore abbia dimostrato con altri lavori di avere talento e idee interessanti. Petit jeu old-school sympa. J'ai aimé la biblio remplie d'énigmes sur fond de musique lugubre.

Muito curto, parece a introdução de algum projeto maior. A ambientação é boa, os cenários nos fazem ter curiosidade e vontade de saber mais sobre o que está acontecendo ao nosso redor. Mas ainda achei um bom point & click e me diverti jogando. Gostaria que tivesse mais.
