Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I absolutely adored my journey through Trails in the past years, and this enjoyment didn't stop with Cold Steel I. I was hesitant at first with the switch to 3D models and a new style and setting. The fear however was uncredited, as you will feel right at home with the characters, music and writing. However, there are some nitpicks I want to address:

The main cast is rather big and introduced all at once, so in the beginning it's hard to get used to everyone. But the structure of the game forces you to interact with all characters a fair amount, so that's no issue once you're a little further in.
Speaking of the structure of the game: World building is not as strong as in previous entries. Given that the country of Erebonia is like 100x bigger than Liberl and Crossbell together, this comes as no surprise. You'll travel to different destinations by train, so the destinations often feel too separated from each other. The villages and cities themselves however have the usual, Trails-esque feeling, which is solely a good thing.
I don't like the new arts and quartz system. Having to manage your quartz build to get certain high-level arts was one of the main highlights of previous entries. This was completed thrown away, you now need to decide between stat ups or high-level arts. I used crafts waaaay more often and Arts only if necessary. Which, in the end, made my NG+ nightmare run a true nightmare until it forced me to take a deeper look into Quartz setup :)
But all in all, it's still a very good entry in the Trails series and a fantastic, outstanding JRPG. I even think Cold Steel I is a good entry point in the series as a whole. But it is even better if you played the previous entries. The CS1 story is happening parallel to Zero and Azure, and while it's technically not necessary to know the plot of these games, it is veeeeeery satisfying to know what exactly is happening in the scenarios the characters in this game are only speculating about, or watching their side of the coin. And now excuse me, I have to dive into Cold Steel II asap. :) PS: One additional nitpick, which is a very serious endgame spoiler:
I know the "You have defeated me, but I'm actually way stronger and use cutscene powers to still best you" is a series staple, but... in the final endfight? For real? Meh :(
I came to play this game because of that cyclone doujin and was captivated of how hot the characters are drawn like a moth. After playing this game, i realized how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up that joint was and contemplating why did i jorked it in the first place........
2nd game in the series ive tried and im enjoying it even though its a bit hard at the moment
good plot so far unique turn-based battle system good music graphic is old but its released many years ago. think the game is originally developed for console, so sometimes feel a little uncomfortable with mouse and keyboard(but its turn based so doesn't matter that much) only thing I don't like is the bond points limitation, which I don't think anyone likes. and based on what I researched, trails series usually don't have that much new content(other than those aiming for trophies) to be worthy of replaying the entire game again so I guess I'll either miss some events or have to read them outside of the game.
Good game

I played this game as a kind of "bedtime story." It's not so intense and heavy that it amps me up, which is good for sleep. However, it was interesting enough to keep me playing until I finished (which took me 100 hours!). Overall, a very cozy and comfortable game. I'd compare it to a long, tropey anime - but one that executes those tropes very well.
The start of a new arc in Erebonia as we get to learn about Rean and his classmates. Like the first game in every arc, its very lengthy and slow. We go around the country as part of our class activities and learn about the setting of the empire. We get to learn more about the internal struggles of Erebonia and its looming threat of a civil war. We get introduced to follow up attacks, all out attacks, and mech fighting. A shift from 2D to 3D makes the game look more spacious. Though at times it can be empty in areas. 5/10
