Picking up shortly after The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Estelle travels across Liberl in search of Joshua. The journey involves more than seeking loved ones, however, as the Bracer Guild also tasks her with unraveling the mysteries behind the newly unveiled Society of Ouroboros.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Definitely a good follow up. The game mechanics stayed consistent and some boss parts were easier to handle.

i liked the part where estelle used the combined power of all the gospels and channelled them into herself to transform into the legendary hero: traylzin daskye
This ♥♥♥♥ will change your life
One of my favorite games ever, please play the first one first as this one continues immediately after it's ending. Plus Estelle is one of the best game characters ever, Olivier too.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, the direct sequel to Trails in the Sky FC, stands as one of the most impressive and rewarding RPG experiences on Steam, and perhaps within the entire genre. Developed by Nihon Falcom and localized with painstaking care by XSEED, SC (Second Chapter) continues the deeply personal and politically charged story of Estelle Bright and the nation of Liberl, picking up immediately after the emotional cliffhanger of the first game. What unfolds across this lengthy, dialogue-rich sequel is a narrative tour de force—one that is as much about emotional growth and philosophical conflict as it is about combat and exploration. At the core of Trails in the Sky SC is its masterful storytelling. Unlike many RPGs that focus on grand, world-ending events from the outset, SC excels at building its stakes slowly and deliberately. Characters are not just names and stats—they are developed with immense depth, and their relationships evolve organically across the game’s dozens of hours. Estelle’s journey, both internal and external, is a highlight. She begins the game reeling from the revelations at the end of FC, but over time becomes a more nuanced, determined, and mature protagonist. Every major character from FC returns, and the way SC pays off story arcs from its predecessor is nothing short of exemplary. It’s not a simple continuation—it’s a deepening, where political intrigue, philosophical themes, and personal stakes intertwine in ways that few RPGs even attempt. One of the most defining features of the Trails series, and SC in particular, is its worldbuilding. The nation of Liberl feels like a living, breathing place. Townspeople have names, unique personalities, and even personal story arcs that change over time. Each location evolves as the story progresses, with NPC dialogue updating regularly to reflect new events. This attention to detail encourages players to engage with the world beyond just the main story. Optional side quests, many of which are fully voiced in Japanese and rich with character, are not filler—they often deepen your understanding of the world and its people. SC doesn't treat worldbuilding as background; it weaves it directly into the player’s experience, making even minor moments feel meaningful. The turn-based combat system, a refined version of what FC introduced, is another highlight. Combat in Trails in the Sky SC is tactical and rewarding, thanks to its grid-based movement and combination of Arts (magic) and Crafts (character abilities). The Orbment system, which lets players customize characters’ elemental slots to unlock different Arts, is one of the most flexible magic systems in any RPG. It rewards experimentation and forethought, especially in harder difficulty settings where preparation can mean the difference between victory and a complete party wipe. Boss fights are consistently challenging and often come with unique gimmicks or conditions that force you to adapt your strategies. SC doesn’t shy away from difficulty, but its systems are robust and fair, and learning their intricacies is a joy for RPG veterans. Visually, Trails in the Sky SC may show its age with its 2D sprites and isometric environments, but the aesthetic remains charming and expressive. Character animations are smooth, and while the environments aren’t graphically complex, they’re detailed and colorful enough to support the game’s tone. The character portraits and emotional expressions go a long way in conveying story beats, especially during dramatic scenes. More than that, the game’s art direction carries a consistency that makes its world feel cohesive and authentic. What SC lacks in technical graphical power, it more than compensates for in personality and atmosphere. The music, composed by Falcom Sound Team jdk, deserves special mention. The soundtrack is expansive and emotionally resonant, ranging from energetic battle tracks to somber piano pieces and stirring orchestral themes. Each region and important story beat has a distinct audio identity, and recurring musical motifs throughout the game lend a sense of narrative continuity. The score doesn’t just accompany the action—it enhances it, deepening the emotional impact of the game’s most pivotal scenes. Perhaps the only major drawback of Trails in the Sky SC is that it absolutely requires players to have completed FC. The game makes very few concessions for newcomers, and attempting to jump in without the context of the first game will likely leave players overwhelmed and confused. This isn’t a standalone sequel—it’s the second half of a larger story, and it treats itself accordingly. For those willing to make the time investment, however, the payoff is enormous. SC not only resolves the numerous plot threads introduced in FC, but also builds toward future titles in the Trails series, subtly laying groundwork for Trails in the Sky the 3rd and even Trails of Cold Steel. The pacing, while deliberate and dialogue-heavy, is part of what makes SC so immersive. It takes its time with characters, never rushing development or glossing over key emotional beats. Some players may find the first few chapters slow, as the game methodically reintroduces the cast and reacquaints the player with Liberl, but this approach ultimately makes the later chapters more impactful. When major events do unfold—and SC contains some of the most shocking and emotionally intense scenes in the franchise—they feel earned. This is a story with genuine weight, supported by some of the most human characters in RPG storytelling. In summary, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC is a masterwork in narrative-driven RPG design. It demands patience, attention, and emotional investment, but the reward is a world and cast that will stay with players long after the credits roll. From its intricate combat to its deeply developed characters, from its meticulously crafted setting to its unforgettable soundtrack, SC delivers a complete and emotionally resonant RPG experience. It’s not just a great sequel—it’s a defining chapter in one of the most consistently brilliant RPG sagas ever made. Rating: 9/10
