Unless you like to lose all your progress daily or more often, like bugs and glitches, and you like to play with cheaters, no matter what you've seen online, it's not worth it. You'll get addicted and then hate yourself, because you can't walk away from this absolutely toxic trash of a game. A survival game where you have to eat to survive, but the button to eat doesn't work, but hey at least they added a new dino. now you can rubberband as a kentro. ping is insane, servers crash all the time. half the community are absolute jerks. Also, be ready to be eaten, no matter what dino you are. many times your own family will kill you while you're just a baby, or you'll starve, because your parents can't feed you since no one in development knows how to properly make and fix a game. Or you'll be walking along as trike and see another trike thinking oh hey a friend and then they just kill you for absolutely no reason other than to be an POS. Developers you need someone to manage you. Your priority should not be to add more dinos, it should be to make it so your game runs smoothly, and so that you can actually save your progress. Let's not forget about the day/night cycle, fog/rain mechanic. You can only see clearly for 1/10 of your life, and that's beind modest. How about loading into the game and you're just looking at the sky and no matter what you do you can't find your own character, but guess what? You were loaded into the game stuck inside a rock. Now, you've fallen and you're stuck midair, and can't get unstuck, because the game doesn't think you're grounded. You're going to play regardless, and nothing is going to change, so this review is pointless, and was a waste of my time, just like every single second that I put into this game. Oh, you want some idea of how to play? look up the most random inaccurate articles and videos online, and you might piece together some idea of how the mechanics work. Thirsty? better log out and relog, so you can actually take a drink. Thought you'd play deino? Now when you eat, you'll remain in the death rolll animation even after you've walked away from the corpse. Thought you'd play PT? hope you don't starve since you can't fish until your 35% growth, and there goes all of your diet. Trying to fly? Well, press spacebar to launch off the side of this tree... just kidding, free fall to your death. Hey, you like communication between yourself and the developers, right? Wrong, you won't hear a word from them, likely because they all know how terrible they are at their jobs and are ashamed to take responsibility for what has become a pvp dumpster fire. Granted this game is early acess, but don't waste $20 on a game that's been in the works for a decade and has always managed to go downhill. but hey, at least you can slide down the hills now instead of launching into the air and getting fractured legs. Anyway, enjoy!
Its a really good game but there are some flaws [obviously its early access] like the elder system where you have to do specific tasks to get your dino to a 'prime' where your stronger and heavier and over time u get weaker [decay] but better then a non prime[frail] and some times you cant eat food and you just die of starvation. overall really good game but i hope they fix these in the future. AND GIVE MORE RELIABLE AI'S FOR DEINOS THEY ALWAYS STARVE IF NO PLAYERS.
Not for the faint of heart! Now that that is out of the way the game is amazing. The amount of effort that is put into the immersion aspects of this game really shines through. Tearing bodies apart manually to dig out organ meat. Being scared to move, being scared to drink water. In an instant you could die and lose hours of effort. It asks a lot of the player. Maybe more than it should but the reward is there. Carnivoures make you feel like a hunter/hunted. Starting off as food for everyone and then slowly becoming the dinosaur everyone else fears. Herbivoures are very chill. Walk and eat. Walk and eat. However growing to adulthood and taking down a sub adult carnivoure that thought you were going to be easy food and roaring over his carcass as you just manage to not die of bleeding... A few negative aspects that will ruin it for some. Lag happens which results in rubber banding. Getting glitched into terrain objects and stuck. Falling through a mountain crack and into some wierd dark cave with no way out and having to slowly wait for your dinosaur to die of hunger. (/unstuck eventually got me out after three tries). Spawning in the freaking swamps trying to manually meet up with a friend by putting coordinates into a web based interactive map and getting caught in the mangroves and frustrated so you just start blindly swimming through the endless swamps only to get stamina exhaustion and slowly sink to the bottom of the pond and die of lack of oxygen.... "sigh" Let's play again!
The blatant hacking is once again running RAMPANT in official AND unofficial servers.... ESPing, damage hacks.... a TREX LITERALLY FLYING.... I like this game, i dont play it as much as most people do but wow.... dieing 85% of the time to someone who one is speed running, not dieing, one shotting a fully grown croc ? idk..... its getting out of hand again.
Pick T-Rex Eat Dinosaur Sleep Get Eaten Do Recommend
Ping always through the roof since the update. Also just got 1 hit whilst fully grown by a baby dino who could move 200 mph in water and on land. Soon as there is one hacker there is always loads more to follow....
This game is a great survival and dinosuar game with 300 hours in pot trying this is amazing for a harder experience i highly recommend:)
This was a neat experience, but this game is not newbie friendly. ESPECIALLY the community. I thought this would be a fun survival game my wife and I could play together, but it is VERY RELIANT ON VOICE/DISCORD to understand where anything or anyone is on the map. The scent radar is hit or miss whether or not you actually find food. It's super rare to find a friendly player to play with. I know it's a beta, but the learning curve is far too steep. Shame too, I enjoyed playing my favorite dinosaurs for a while.
