Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Don’t know why it’s saying 0.9 hrs on record when under my library it says 130hrs. Anyway, good game. Gets quite repetitive, but that’s to be expected. Great WW1 grand and real time strategy game if that scratches ya itch.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 11 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Not worth the full price.
Liked the game. But sadly it's far from being perfect. I would say buy it on sale as I did.
If a game is clearly designed to make players suffer and isn’t fun, and after playing it, players really do feel like they suffered and didn’t have fun, then does it really deserve a negative review? Actually, this game deserves an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating. It’s really not fun in the traditional sense—it’s brutally realistic (and honestly, the AI has already been nerfed. Seriously, if every point launched counterattacks as aggressively as the command trench, the difficulty would be on a whole different level). It’s only suitable for hardcore players. Almost all the negative reviews are technically correct (especially the infuriating part where, after breaching the trench, you still have to wait for your whole squad to regroup). You’ll witness hundreds of people dying like trash for nothing, just to take over a ditch that nobody will care about a few days later. Although I quickly figured out how to achieve total victory with equal or even fewer troops, before I learned that, the experience was absolutely one-of-a-kind—miss it, and you’ll never find anything else like it.
a very well made game about WW1 , sadly it dont has many Campagin variety Or PVE mode to play with friends, Also has diferent infantry units and trenches, asist units and you can build your own defenses and trench complex.
A game for anyone who likes the history of ww1, the gameplay is fun its like total war battles with CIV map layout and movement. Tech tree is fun and it makes you really think about your next choices.
The Great War: Western Front, left behind in no-mans-land.
Firstly, this game has some really interesting concepts and slides into a very particular niche in terms of video games. The real Great War was a tragic, protracted conflict that amounted to a huge loss of life and great suffering for both sides of the conflict. Within the scope of this game's campaign, there is the trench mechanic, global and regional supply, battles of attrition across territory and key strategic locations. The technology tree was also really interesting to engage with, choosing what technology to prioritize. I would say that the game is remarkably true to time and the conflict. I did also appreciate the added depth to the Allies campaign with the different nationalities and how that plays into your management of the front. Its a shame there was no real reflection on the Central Powers. There is an event system with objectives/rewards for completing various components that feels very "this is a directive from the home office". I also really liked the use of the propaganda posters and archival footage/stills. As a Hearts of Iron player, this was fantastic to see all of these details in my first playthough. However, the glossy exterior wears quickly when you realise you'll be playing the same maps repeatedly as you form your assaults/defences. It becomes obvious that encirclments are extremely powerful in the campaign overworld map, so you will need to attack the same positions over and over again. With no difference or variation in the RTS map of each tile, even if I flattened the position with artillery or gas in an earlier attack. This was loathsome and tedious. The next observation, I had was that the actual RTS component can feel a little frustrating when you can see how many units the AI is able to spit out onto the map, with performance issues appearing in certain challenges/regions of the campaign. As a side note, this game is completely unplayable on a Hard Drive, you MUST have this on an SSD to get anything to load. Even on an SSD, I got really sick of the volume of loading screens this game presents and the requirement to click "Continue" was really abrasive. I started this review I had intended to recomend against playing this altogether. That said, for those interested in this time in history and want to try something new, I implore you to give it a try. Personally, I think you'd get more value out of reading (or watching) something like "All Quiet on the Western Front" but I'll leave that for you to decide. Ultimately, the overall experience made me wonder why I wasn't playing Hearts of Iron IV and/or one of the "WW1 mods" for that game. It's a shame, because there is some interesting gameplay moments within "The Great War: Western Front". I hope that future titles that explore this time in history with the same respect that this game does. It is just a shame this title was abandoned with so much tedium, repetition and performance issues. || Buy, only on largest of discounts ||
