About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Reviews
I'm sad to make this review because this game could be exceptional. This game has a marvelous dark post-apocalyptic graphics style, a unique stance: we are not heroes, we are just rats trying to survive, and it has a savory reference to 1984. But we are supposed to be scavengers, rats. This means sneaking out of a situation or waiting for a conflict to resolve to advance and only use gun as last resort (or risky/greedy encounter). But the AI in this game does NOT make you feel this way. All combats are always near you, ALWAYS. Waiting for the conflict to end and troops to move out is not possible because all combats are ALWAYS near you, meaning units hang around doing nothing. You are then forced to fight or go back, make them despawn, and come back. I'm not playing the game; I'm hacking the AI to make it move. That explains why scav girl or shaman are favorites: move fast, hack spawn easily. When you pay attention to the conflict (because you need to plan where to go and how), nothing makes sense. - No clear frontline: units from either side spawn everywhere. - Units stay near you even after one side has been killed - There is no clear objective for either side (protect a point, attack a point, go around, mechs or tanks to pierce, artillery). I know it's a complex thing to do, but, man, if AI could really make you feel like it's a complex puzzle about seeing opportunities on the frontline; a skirmish that ends with an alone combatant, a big charge that leaves a few seconds an objective empty for looting, or simply going on a supply line or artillery line to attack and loot. And in my wildest dream, I imagine that my action would influence the skirmish, an scouting troups that disapears, shots that comes from the rearlines that should trigger some response from both sides. For the moment it feels like a big rock is placed on any path I take and i have to risk a fight or leave for the next rock. I hope that this will change, but the current "meta" is (for high lvl) run and gun which in my opinion is the opposite of what this game is suppose to be.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A stealth shooter that doubles as a wallpaper generator. Come for the cinema, stay for the journey Scav.
This game has so much potential. The inventory system needs to be streamlined as it gets confusing. The game itself is beautiful and fun. Enemy AI needs work and the menus get sloppy but its worth picking up for sure. Only played a short time but I have high hopes for this title.
First impression, cant turn the settings low enough, very GPU intensive…. Graphics quality is GOOD, my only REAL NEGATIVE is being in 3rd person, and when you aim down sight it switches to 1st person view and there’s some latency with that and an animation, makes me queesy/motion sick…. 7/10
Visuals and Emersion = Amazing Gun selection and Experience progression = All kind of weapons and unclear progression. Would like more parts and attachment options. NPC and battle mechanics = individualized to faction and rank/position. Maps = mix of close to long range maps. As a scav, one is often looking for places to hide, and you will find spot that one will get stuck in spots where multiple boundries(?) of the landscape dont meet up cleanly. Extraction shooter = PVE, and one of the most immersive and truly game that rewards my hoarding packrat desires. Personally, if they continue to develop the game, this game will truly be one of the most EPIC rewarding extraction shooters I have/will ever play....solid 4 of 5 stars, heading for 5? Either way, will totally recommend. I believe complaints are triple A expectation or triple A snobs lacking the basic understanding of the progression abilities of a smaller/new studio/developer. They are doing amazing work given their start and position. Keep in mind Triple A's are microtransaction garbage piles that are looking to move to $80 games that are half baked....I would rather put my support towards smaller actual gamer/gaming ideological developers that think toward the new/fresh/original...then the repeat garbage designed to manipulate and squeeze for the mission of greed.
I took a long break from the game and I came back to it day ago (7/15). The game is still jank as all hell and wacky, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game is beautiful and brimming with potential -- and has improved a lot from its initial release. if i had to be a TLDR about it, its ARC raiders but coop PvE and with Post-apo Sci-fi vibes kindof like Warhammer, but very different -- and oh my god it is beautiful. Glory to the Mech god. Pray that your looting session will be one of greatness, and credits.
broken POS Update: This game being broken doesn't mean I didn't have fun, no correlation to my enjoyment whatsoever.
Still rough around the edges but the devs push updates regularly. The game is very good
cool concept, visuals and lore. clunky /buggy game. but why the unkillables? i get the core concept but making an enemy unkillable is just not fun. make it tough but not impossibru.
