The Escape: Together

me and my guys all got the game in 2024 and played all the maps. Then we saw that a new map had dropped and we all decided to hop back on and play it, so much fun and most definitely recommend if you're trying to make memorable nights with your homies

The Escape: Together is a pretty standard co-op escape room horror game that is best enjoyed with friends. There aren't really any unique mechanics, but it does what it sets out to do. There are four levels in total, and the game is also quite affordable, which makes it easier to recommend. The main issues for me were the lack of an FOV. There are also quite a lot of reused assets, and many of the maps start to feel very similar. There are many repetitive puzzles, although each map does have at least one unique puzzle. The atmosphere is there, but don't expect a huge horror experience. Most of the jumpscares are basically the same formula: a loud scream and something appearing on the screen. It's more likely to make you laugh with your friends than actually scare you. I wouldn't replay it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a great game to play through once with friends. With four levels, you can finish it in one evening, or play one level per day and turn it into four evenings of co-op fun. On the technical side, I had no major lag or bugs. The lack of an FOV slider was probably the biggest issue for me and made playing less comfortable than it should have been. Considering this is the developers' first game and they've already added multiple new levels, and the game is inexpensive, I'd definitely recommend giving it a chance.
