it's a solid 6 out of 10, get with discount if you are fond of Tactical RPGs (no turns) and Dwarves... Story is interesting. Map movement and "exploration" could be more fleshed out (ration is useless, money is unimportant, amount of turns is very important in the beginning and then completely unimportant). Interesting side quests and side characters. Graphics are clearly outdated. Gameplay is...not so great. It absolutely can shine in some maps, where you can get to cleverly use chasms and explosives and the full "physics", plus the tactical pause to order your characters around to put enemies where you want them. But it can also absolutely suck when you have to follow a specific design or when your characters decide to fully ignore your orders. Worst case in last stages, where you can easily get overwhelmed and characters get unresponsive, despite max level and constant usage of skills. ps. auto hit is useless, you only kill stuff by using skills. Also, mage is OP.

Hatte das Game schon lange auf meiner Liste. Macht richtig spaß und die Geschichte ist auch klasse. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Besides some bugs here and there, this game is AMAZING! I love the story, the characters, everything! The game is just an absolute joy to behold and I can say with great pride that this is one of my most favourite games ever! Every moment that I played, I was like "I'll just play a little more before going to bed" and I would look up at the clock and 2 hours would go by in the blink of an eye. It is just that addictive because it is just that good! I'm not going to give you any spoilers. This is a game that you need to experience for yourself. I can't believe that I had this game in my library for under 10 years all because I seen a youtuber, Splattercatgaming, play the amazing game. I don't think he completed the game so I had to finally play it for myself. So much time had already passed and ever since then, him playing it held a very fond memory for me that I only just lived through. And after all this time, you'd think the game would be dated but no! It still holds up!!! I need there to be a 2nd game of this! There has to be a 2nd game that gets made! The only sadness that this game brings me is that I have now played this game for the first time and so I'd never get that amazing feeling again from playing it for the first time. I can only hope that I forget overtime so I can relive the adventure in the game all over again. But with how amazing this game is, I don't think I'll forget about it anytime soon. If I remember it so fondly for over under 10 years from a YouTuber playing it then I don't think I'll forget about it for the next 10 years either after playing it. Thank you everyone who made this amazing game possible. You have my eternal gratitude for this masterpiece of a game.

It was far better than I imagined ! The culture/style of the Dwarves, the story, the voice-acting, and also the combat animations and design are all very high quality! In fact, the visuals/graphics seem better than the other games made by the same studio. And I forgot to mention a glorious soundtrack! [h3]Difficulty[/h3] There are 4 difficulty settings and I played on Medium, which is the 3rd. Medium difficulty is challenging and some combat events are rather hard, so you need to pause the game (spacebar) and use your combat skills properly (some skills can cause damage to allies). I do a lot of micro-managing in real-time combat games and I was playing this one as if it were turn-based (pausing every 2 seconds or so). You need to control all characters in combat really. I had to restart a few battles! I like a challenge and having some companions fall is not too punishing (they are Wounded, but not killed). [h3]Bugs ?[/h3] Issues reported years ago have been fixed. I did encounter 3 bugs: - [minor] I restarted one small fight because one enemy got stuck in the terrain (the goal was to kill 30... and I was stuck at 29) ; - [minor] In an important battle, I could no longer use my skills for a few hot seconds (no impact really) ; - [major] In a final combat scene, my character could no longer be controlled. I simply loaded the autosave (the game always makes a save just before combat) and everything was fine. So I lost only 1 minute really. [h3]Time[/h3] It took me 21 hours playing fully and cautiously. Most claim to finish in less than 10 hours: go figure. [h3]Final verdict[/h3] The story is great, with tragic moments and some RPG decisions to make, and fans of fantasy Dwarves should love it !

Das Spiel erzählt die Geschichte von Tungdil Goldhand und seinen Gefährten und ermöglicht es Fans der Bücher, bekannte Figuren, Orte und Konflikte selbst zu erleben. Tungdil, der als Findelkind bei Menschen aufgewachsen ist, steht erneut vor der Aufgabe, seine Herkunft zu entdecken und eine große Bedrohung aufzuhalten. Die Charaktere sind abwechslungsreich gestaltet und tragen viel zum Charme des Spiels bei. Das Kampfsystem ist ein interessantes Element des Spiels. Statt einfach nur schnell zuzuschlagen, steht die taktische Positionierung der Gruppe im Mittelpunkt. Die Möglichkeit, jederzeit zwischen den verschiedenen Helden zu wechseln und deren Fähigkeiten gezielt einzusetzen, sorgt für abwechslungsreiche Gefechte. Besonders die großen Massenschlachten vermitteln ein Gefühl für die epische Größe der Konflikte aus der Buchwelt. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist die deutsche Sprachausgabe und die Zusammenarbeit mit Markus Heitz. Dadurch entsteht eine stärkere Verbindung zwischen Spiel und Romanwelt. Für Fans der Bücher fühlt sich das Abenteuer wie eine zusätzliche Geschichte aus dem bekannten Universum an. Allerdings hat The Dwarves auch einige Schwächen. Die technische Umsetzung wirkt an manchen Stellen nicht vollständig ausgereift. Animationen, Kameraführung und gelegentliche Fehler können den Spielfluss beeinträchtigen.
