At the close of the Iraq War, Special Forces hunting for weapons of mass destruction unearth something far deadlier – a buried Sumerian temple containing a nest of unearthly creatures. To survive the night below, they must forge a brotherhood with their enemies from the world above.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amazing game
I completed the story and really enjoyed the game. There are numerous paths you can take and it all affects the story and the eventual outcome. I have to give a lot of credit to the team behind this game for mapping out so many possibilities and crafting a pretty exciting story. This seriously could have been a movie and with a bit of tweaking it could have been a pretty awesome Alien film.
House of Ashes is the third entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology, which is a series of standalone horror games. All these titles share some things in common. They are mostly narrative games with choices and consequences, with QTEs and puzzles in the mix. They are on the shorter side, but designed for multiple playthroughs, since there are a lot of variations. Probably the most unique aspect is the online co-op story, since each player experiences one of two perspectives, each with their own choices. In single-player, they are represented by the Theatrical Cut (standard) and Curator's Cut (alternative) modes. Add to these collectibles and achievements, and there’s plenty to experience if you want 100%. Each game has 5 different protagonists, and all feature the Curator, a central figure who is a sort of narrator. House of Ashes, when compared to the previous titles, feels a bit different. Those have slower, more psychological horror that is better at building and maintaining tension. I didn’t feel the same this time around, since this one is more direct. In that sense, it’s a worse horror game. But overall, I think it’s a better game. The setting this time is a buried Sumerian temple located beneath Iraq. The main cast is in the army, so they have training and equipment, but the creatures that lurk in the temple are stronger and deadlier. It feels more like an action movie, with great sequences. The cast is also better, with better interactions and development between them. And the overall story is great. I especially enjoyed the ending; it’s a vast improvement over the previous titles. So overall, despite being an average horror game, it’s a good game that I can recommend on sale. I can see why it’s considered one of the best in the anthology.
play it for Salim <3 after having played the other two dark pictures games up until this point, i have to say that house of ashes was not what i expected. you get quite a lot of replay value out of these games because there are so many choices you can make. if you enjoy this kind of game, you'll enjoy this one.
