A rare find: a game about automation where I'm genuinely curious to see what happens next.

Latest in each market: best AU #49, worst UK #90 · 6 markets collected
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

(Kickstarter!) The Crust is an interesting mix of automation and business management. It's not quite Factorio, it doesn't have the same depth or scale of building a factory that spans the planet. But it expands the overall scope by adding "Contracts" to sell your factory's output, it adds a storyline with voice acting, it adds a moon-sized "Overworld" where you can build outposts and send vehicles out to move cargo, mine the surface, and conduct research. So it's not merely building a moon base, it is RUNNING a moon base. Making sure you have the cash flow to import rare components you can't make yet, making sure you have the energy to survive the Lunar darkness.
So far just started into the tutorial, the dialog between characters is really snarky and petty :/ I am hoping as soon as I am out of the tutorial, this petty dialogue is not longer there :/ will update later ..... Uhhh it doesn't really get better .... towards the end of the tutorial, it is an absolute cringefest of dialogue !! so far though, I like the theme of the game, and look forward to playing it properly....
This game is labelled 1.0 but that was all they did, even on high end rigs this game crashes more than a demolition derby full of blind people. Crash on purchasing colonists, crash on landing colonists, crash on load, crashes just for fun, better hope the autosave system doesn't corrupt itself, oh whoops it did that too...... This game is far from finished, it's still in early alpha stability wise. Don't waste your time as I did. Check their discord for the bug list, it updates every few minutes!
I recommend this game to players who have the patience to tolerate bugs, of which there are unfortunately quite a few. Version 0.99.14: Drone logistics works, to say the least, oddly. It’s hard for me to describe the bug precisely, but if you play the game you will understand what I mean. Prioritization exists, but it is limited by drone logistics bugs and the other bugs I describe below. The light vehicle assembly workshop works only immediately after construction. If you save and reload the game the workshop stops accepting resources. Drones stop delivering resources to it, no matter the priority. If you queued a construction before exiting the game you cannot cancel it after reload. The only fix is to demolish and rebuild, but that works only until the next reload. At least resources are returned on demolition. The super-heavy vehicle assembly workshop has exactly the same problem as the light vehicle workshop. The transport cannon does not fire when you are on the Moon map level at any game speed. The transport cannon also has the same problem with resource delivery for ammo production as the two previous workshops: it works after fresh construction and until a reload. The game offers contracts that are impossible to complete even at late stages. I have 4 free transport rovers and 20 cargo drones, almost all idle. I received an order to deliver 50 microchips across the Moon. I accepted and prepared the shipment. The rover loads immediately but cannot deliver on time because it has to travel to the other side of the Moon, even with fuel. I admit that if the cargo were loaded into the expedition center by conveyors while the rover waited at base it might make it within the same day. Still, such contracts should be reconsidered. I will not review colonists in detail yet because they seem still in development. Overall they already provide some value. There is no option in settings to skip the intro cinematic. I know you can hold space for 3–4 seconds, but this compulsion to show unrelated videos is odd. I strongly ask the developers to add a setting to disable the intro cinematic. There is no option to disable the "lore". I am not someone who likes dialogues, and in this game dialogues push you toward thoughtless spending and actions that later cause resource or credit collapse. I may be wrong about some things, but this is my opinion of the game at the moment. If the developers fix anything while I continue playing I will return and update my review. For now, that is all. Best wishes ✌️ Update from 20.08.2025 A new bug. After the latest reload all scout rovers that were on the Moon in research mode — i.e., generating engineering and fundamental science points — stopped being counted as "busy", as shown by the rover icon at the top left and the number of free rovers. If you select a rover it still shows research mode and the generated point count changes over time, but for some reason it is not counted as occupied. Re-applying the mode restored the "busy" status. Trucks have the same problem but worse. They simply lost all their assigned routes and stopped wherever they were at the moment of the last save. That is the most annoying part. Reassigning routes now is a pain. The route-loss issue for trucks is critical and repeats after reloading the game on any save.
I was really excited to see drones had been reworded, but the same old bugs persist ruining any excitement I had for the new content. Started another play through with the most recent patch, and ran right into the age old bug with the drones not finishing buildings. I’d say wait for the full release it has a decent story and potential as a factory sim game with any luck they would have worked out the game breaking bugs.
