The Beginner's Guide is a narrative video game from Davey Wreden, the creator of The Stanley Parable. It lasts about an hour and a half and has no traditional mechanics, no goals or objectives. Instead, it tells the story of a person struggling to deal with something they do not understand.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 15/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Started strong, but fell flat quickly. A walking simulator while you listen to the creators thoughts.
spoilers about the narrative The game tries to tell a simple story about the uninterpretability of art (and the artist for that matter), but in doing so it tells you how to interpret art. A complete 180 from normal art interpretations where to interpret is to bring the art to life. The game is also ugly, the FOV is too low and it tries to impress you with easy textures

Un "walking simulator" que explora la mente de un desarrollador a través de sus juegos. Lo que empieza como una simple recopilación de proyectos termina convirtiéndose en una reflexión sobre el arte, la amistad y la obsesión por encontrar significado en todo
This game hit me in a way few others ever will. Coda reminds me of way I felt about game development when I tried my own hand at being an indie dev. People always invading my space, crossing my boundaries, and thus making my job harder. And because I wasn't a professional, I didn't have the resources to keep going when there were so many strangers breaking my boundaries. I felt as if none of the money I made from indie development was worth the annoyance of putting up with those bad apple individuals, they ruined the metaphorical "bunch" for me. Game spoiler here
Coda wasn't some traumatized recluse. He was just happy to make something and sick of people invading his passion.
and I'd say that's the thing I felt as well.
this was the best dollar I ever spent. totally a masterpiece I just can't explain it with words you must experience it.
It's shorter than Mixtape but delivers a more captivating narrative
GREATEST GAME EVER MADE BY THE WAY
