Boy, do I have praises to sing for this game-- The art is colorful and lively, the characters are wonderfully wacky (only emphasized by the VA talent at work here!), The premise is fun (+ It enhances Bluke's character imo), the minigames are polished (Which is especially impressive with their variation!), the humor is very fun (in my opinion) and the quality of life options and game choices are just fantastic-- to elaborate; HEADS UP!! THE EXTENDED PORTION OF THIS REVIEW INCLUDES LIGHT SPOILERS!! (I mention specific scenarios & characters by name, as well as allude to some mechanics in the minigames) I've caught glimpses of the time, love and effort that went into the visuals in this game and I think it turned out beautifully. Most impressively to me, everything is very distinct: The assets work together very nicely, and yet also manage to be distinct enough from each other that I can always see who is who and what is what at a glance. This clarity works greatly in the favor of the minigames, as I never found myself unable to tell what was going on. Each minigame feels fair and polished, which I can only imagine wasn't easy given how they all use different mechanics! The games were great at making me feel like it my own fault (not the fault of the game) when I failed, which encouraged me to want to improve. The only times I ever felt as though the game threw me off were in the burger making minigame (Failing a long recipe only for it to come in back to back is a bit disheartening) and the running minigame (I don't feel like there's enough horizontal mobility to adjust for obstacles sometimes, especially with the bats). The quality of life touches show the time and thought put into the game-- Being allowed to save during dialogue for choices (over multiple slots, at that!), having toggles for the language and gore, access to edit the textbox for readability, toggles for captions, control binds, togglable visual effects... it all makes the game feel very user friendly (Though the game might benefit from more of a warning than the bottom of the steam page explaining that there is gore and strong language so people have the option to turn those things off before starting the game). The writing only once felt like it trapped you in one place for too long since you move around a lot between interactions; Said one time was in the interaction with Vinny and Huel due to some repetition and it's immediate segway into Krekner and Paul's introduction (The dialogue choices in this segment help break it up well, though!). Side touches like the dialogue while on the road and Tuft's journey actually taking him around the map also contribute to keeping the player (or at least me) immersed and engaged. The use of made up words and goofy terms helps this too! There's a lightheartedness to most of the interactions where you don't feel like you HAVE to take it seriously, so when something gets particularly out there it doesn't pull me out so much as just make me laugh. Because of this, when serious or tense moments come up they stick out. The premise of the setting is also great and supports Bluke as a character very effectively. He's a dynamic character with the capacity to act in many ways depending on player input, but his friendly disposition and wide eyed lens on the world (as someone who grew up without ever needing to know or worry about what weapons are) give him an endearing innocence. He also manages to avoid being one note, mainly highlighted (to me) by his fanboyish franticness when he encounters Jevin. Despite being yet further rounded out with moments like his retrospect for worrying if the group is using weapons "right", he doesn't feel too all over the place since his friendlier traits are pretty consistent. Overall, a very good protagonist. The music is also fantastic and Aaryn's scores for the game deserve an extra round of applause- While I particularly favor the work with the brass, the soundtrack does a great job at setting the mood for each area and scenario you are in. As of this review I've only played enough to see through the options and take a shot at the minigame leaderboards (Which exist, by the way!) but the title theme has already managed to be a bit of an earworm. Overall, I really hope to see more chapters. 9/10.

What a fun game this was! With the whole game being voice acted, it was super fun to see how the dialogue and scenario changes based on decisions made throughout the playthrough!
