That Which Gave Chase is a simple and brief, yet great horror game in terms of nailing the look it's going for and the desolate, slow descent into madness vibe it attempts to curate. The music and sound-design, from the howling of the wind, eerie sound of footsteps, and the sliding of the sled across the snow are incredible. Though the gameplay is fairly limited, the game keeps you engaged, quickly moving from scene to scene and allowing you to become immersed in the haunting surreal beauty of the ice-blink and eternal blizzard. You travel with a companion who has much to say via text (he is unvoiced) and remains deeply unsettling throughout the short experience's duration. TWGC was confusing at points and definitely could've stood to gain from including more variety in the game, but for what it is I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend you give this brief psychological horror title a chance, and if you decide to play it enjoy it at night in the quiet solace of your own home.
Really good atmosphere and surprisingly intense. Some replay value as well.

It was okay. I completely agree with rbagshaw117's review. The music and atmosphere were quite good, but the sled movement just sucks. It was really annoying, I tried that mountain section like 20 times before giving up, but at least there was a skip button. I thought the story was kinda interesting and had some good moments, but I think the game could have mixed in more moments of tangible story beats to break up the sledding, though I understand the monotony is meant for establishing atmosphere. It wasn't bad, I just wish there was more of that "retracing the steps of an arctic expedition" since after I kinda figured out what was going on it didn't really go anywhere. Comparing it to any movie oversells it, it feels and reminds people of many other movies because it focuses on broad strokes and vague implications rather than sharpening it's own unique identity. I wish Steam had a neutral option. Still, I do appreciate these sorts of shorter narrative experiences in games, and I hope to see more like it in the future.
The story was confusing, but the dog sledding was unique.
Atmosperic, short, makes you think. Great
very good, loved the sound design and track. Get why the visuals are the way they are but it does gross out the eyes after a while.
I really wanted to like this game. I love PS1 style atmospheric games so i'm pretty sure i'm the target audience, but i just didn't enjoy it. The story is confusing and the game feels like it overstays its welcome even though it lasts 1 hour. A boring experience. Bonus points for being able to pet the dogs and the pretty good shooting mechanic. 4/10
