The perfect pick up and play game. Sometimes I find myself playing for a couple hours, other times I’ll play for about 10 minutes and I always come away feeling satisfied. I’ve never been great at Tetris, but I find myself getting better each time, slowly being able to climb the speed setting, whereas in the past I’d have no luck and crumble under the pressure and speed. Before Tetris Effect I was never a “huge” fan. I absolutely respected it, the genre, and its legacy as the seminal puzzle game, but T:E changed all that and I even revisited older titles and fell [back] in love. The particle effects and way the background changes and morphs to your performance, it draws you in compels you to watch, all the while you’re trying to concentrate on the pieces. Not to mention the soundtrack/score is nothing short of phenomenal as well as the sound effects once again reacting to your play. If you’re on the fence, or don’t consider yourself very good at puzzle games, like I thought I wasn’t, I recommend giving this a try. It’s not as hard as others and eases you in to its difficulty, while at the same time giving you so much more than that to experience, and that’s not even accounting for the various other gameplay modes and multiplayer that offers so much more. Fantastic game that everyone should have the chance to play.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game has been broken on steamdeck since the september 2025 update with the only supposed help from the developers being "Turn the settings down!" Game worked fine before the september 2025 patch without turning settings down. ♥♥♥♥ turning settings down. Fix the game.
It's fine but not worth the full price imo. It's still just Tetris.
Игра нормальная, но не перевести тетрис на русский язык -- мягко говоря некрасиво. Для VR бесполезен.
I'm reviewing this from the perspective of a VR only player. I've never played the game outside of VR. I love Tetris. I love VR. Yet for some reason I thought the idea of Tetris in VR sounded... unnecessary. I was very wrong. The journey mode is incredibly beautiful and something that is best experienced in VR. The visuals and music are moving and add way more to the immersion than I would have thought possible. Outside of journey, the multiplayer is great and I've never had trouble connecting with other players. As a Tetris lover I have no doubt that multiplayer is fun on screen mode as well, but VR ruined me and now I can't see playing Tetris any other way. If you love Tetris and you love VR, don't hesitate. On paper this game should have no business being in my top 5 VR games of all time along with heavy hitters like The Forest and Valheim, yet its earned a solid spot at the top and I don't think its ever going to be knocked down.
One of my favorite games ever. I use Tetris as a way to think. The music in the game is what made me get this version in particular. I wish I could play it more than I have. Unfortunately, I have developed some issues with strobing and flashing lights in the last year or two, which are used obsessively in the game and it's not something that can be turned off. If there was an accessibility feature that turned off the backgrounds or maybe have them as static images with less flashing lights I think I would love this particular version of Tetris more. As it is, while I can't play it much, I would recommend it to anyone else who can. I will just have to go find one that doesn't make me want to be sick or pass out.
“Graphics don’t matter, even though almost every game has graphics.” This game: “Hold my beer.” I have never played anything remotely close to this game, and I've played a lot of Tetris over the years. Sure, it's almost laughably overpriced at face value, but get it at 50% off (aka what should be the base price) or less and you won’t regret it. I never thought that friggin’ Tetris could be such an audiovisual feast and present a "story" depending on your interpretation. The soundtrack slaps my tits. Certain drugs were obviously consumed in the making of this game. It is easily one of my top 25 best games ever, and I've been gaming for 30+ years so that list is probably about 1000 games long. In many ways it is almost totally unreviewable - Tetris Effect: Connected is an *experience*, and perhaps even life-changing with the right mindset and perhaps memories... it depends on where you're at on your own personal journey. Really benefits from a high refresh rate, especially later on in the "Journey" mode. It supports HDR too. Those two things come together to make it, frankly, the OLED Deck killer app. Not sure it would be any good on an LCD, having owned one, just because the text size is ehh even on the OLED and the mere idea of playing this at 60hz makes my skin crawl. Happy 300th review. I'll be playing this until I die.
Доволі розслабляюча гра де розробники непогано поєднали геймплей і музику. Раджу пограти для релаксу.
I own this game for Xbox, oculus and now steam deck. Played a couple of hours and abandoned it for several months. Now coming back a few updates later I‘m shocked it’s barely playable on my OLED steam deck anymore. Stutters and slow downs, even on low settings. What the hell has happened? Really sad about this devolution. So long story short: one of the best Tetris games ever created. But if you wanna pick it up for your steam deck, avoid it for the moment till the Devs have finally come up with a proper update. And yes, they seem to be aware of these issues but keep ignoring it. Fingers crossed they will change their mind soon. Therefore now recommendation as SD user.
