Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 8 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is competently enough put together horror. Scares are mostly not terribly effective but not the worst I've seen. Puzzles are varied and interesting enough without being overly challenging. The atmosphere built up is fairly effective, it's just a shame the story is pretty nonsensical and throwaway. It's clear that this is an inexperienced team as they seem to have put effort into things that just weren't required, as if they were trying to create a different type of game. Like health and sanity meters. I'm not sure how you could ever die in this from loss of sanity as I only took a couple of hits of harm there throughout the entire game and never used any relaxants (sanity medkits). And the health meter could have been replaced with simply regenerating health, instead of scattering painkillers everywhere, most of which you'll never use. The inclusion of glowsticks was another odd one. Same for lighter. Neither of which will get used as the torch that you get at the start is far better than both. Plus there's so many torch batteries that having a replacement battery mechanism was just pointless busy work. It's not survival horror, they shouldn't have bothered trying to force it. Ignore the playtime, it actually took far less to complete, I had left it idling for a while. Worth it on sale for a couple of hours of decent horror entertainment.

When entering the dorms, there should be two drawings on the table that trigger the next objective once collected. Unfortunately, they never appeared for me. On top of that, all of the puzzles inside the dorms were already solved, which I assume is because they're only supposed to be reset or activated after picking up the drawings. Overall, this was an incredibly frustrating and time-wasting experience.
It's worth playing. The horror aspect isn't strong but the continuing story as well as the puzzles are worth a play through.
Test Of Courage, developed and published by Just Sauce Studio, is a compact first-person horror experience that builds its identity around atmosphere, exploration, and a steady sense of unease rather than mechanical complexity. Set within the eerie confines of an abandoned school, it follows a familiar premise—returning to a place tied to a mystery—but manages to sustain engagement through careful pacing and environmental storytelling rather than relying purely on shock value. The narrative places players in the role of Marco, who ventures into the deserted Brave Wood Academy after receiving a cryptic message connected to the disappearance of two friends. The story unfolds gradually as players explore the building, uncovering clues and piecing together what happened. Rather than relying heavily on cutscenes or exposition, the game uses its environment to convey information, encouraging players to pay attention to details scattered throughout the school. This approach gives the experience a sense of discovery, even if the overall plot remains relatively straightforward. Gameplay centers on exploration and light puzzle-solving. Players move through interconnected areas of the school, searching for key items needed to progress while avoiding threats that emerge at specific moments. The structure is semi-linear, allowing some freedom in navigation while still guiding players toward objectives. Puzzles are generally simple, often involving locating objects or interpreting basic clues, which helps maintain a smooth pace. While this accessibility ensures that players are rarely stuck for long, it also means that the game does not offer much in the way of deeper or more intricate problem-solving. Where Test Of Courage finds its strength is in its atmosphere. The abandoned school setting is used effectively, with dim lighting, narrow corridors, and subtle environmental changes creating a persistent sense of tension. The game relies on a mix of traditional horror techniques—such as sudden scares—and quieter, more psychological elements that build unease over time. Audio plays a key role here, with ambient sounds and distant noises contributing to the feeling that something is always just out of sight. This combination keeps players alert, even during slower moments of exploration. Encounters with hostile entities are present but not overly demanding. The game avoids turning these moments into complex combat or stealth challenges, instead using them to reinforce tension. Once players understand how to react, these encounters become more about anticipation than difficulty, which can slightly reduce their impact over time. However, they still serve their purpose in maintaining the overall tone and pacing of the experience. Visually, the game delivers a solid presentation for an indie title. The environments are detailed enough to feel believable, with textures and lighting that enhance the mood without requiring high-end visuals. The school itself is designed in a way that supports both navigation and tension, with areas that feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive whole. The interface is minimal and unobtrusive, allowing players to remain immersed in the environment. The game’s relatively short length works to its advantage. Most playthroughs can be completed in a few hours, which helps prevent the core mechanics from becoming repetitive. The pacing remains consistent throughout, with a clear progression from exploration to resolution. While this brevity means that certain ideas and themes are not explored in depth, it also ensures that the experience remains focused and easy to complete. Despite its strengths, Test Of Courage does not significantly evolve its mechanics as it progresses. The core loop—explore, collect, avoid—remains largely unchanged, and players looking for more variety or complexity may find the experience somewhat limited. Additionally, while the story provides a clear motivation, it does not delve deeply into its themes, leaving some narrative elements feeling underdeveloped. Ultimately, Test Of Courage is a well-crafted but modest horror experience that succeeds through atmosphere and pacing rather than innovation. It offers a focused journey that is easy to engage with and delivers a consistent sense of tension from beginning to end. While it may not stand out in a crowded genre, it provides a solid and enjoyable experience for players seeking a short, immersive horror title. Rating: 7/10
I'm definitely playing this developer's games out of order but I still enjoyed it. Learned more lore about this "buffer" and it was interesting.
Very solid first game from the devs. Great scares and fun puzzles.
Fun short horror game easily done in one sitting.
Test Of Courage is a very correct, interesting, polished game with an original story. I would have prefer another kind of horror / story but Test of Courage is a highly recommended product. final valuation 6,5/10
