Terra Nil is an intricate environmental strategy game about transforming a barren wasteland into a thriving, balanced ecosystem. Bring life back to a lifeless world by purifying soil, cleaning oceans, planting trees, and reintroducing wildlife, then leave without a trace.

Great
It's visually appealing, gives great satisfaction seeing baren wastelands come to life by your actions, and even a bit puzzl-ish here and there. No time pressure, no need for good reflexes, just relax and have fun. The only thing i find lacking is some sort of hint/tooltip system if you get stuck or not sure how to progress (the in-game booklet leaves a lot to be desired). Luckily, there are great guides out there.

Only 5 hours in but have had a world of a time. Serene atmosphere and satisfying problem solving
7/10 很有创意和想法的模拟经营游戏 但是在一些细节方面不是很友好,引导也有点问题 瑕不掩瑜
Presents as a fun chill city builder style game where you clean up wastelands, but its realistically a pretty hardcore puzzle game where you have to fail multiple times before the games mechanics are explained to you. The clash between those two ideas made this kinda unfun, I didn't end up finishing it.
Beautiful game with a lot to do. I can't wait to see what else the developers come up with.
Fascinating gameplay, incredibly satisfying when you accomplish your goal, but it is a little too tricky for me right now. I'm sure I'll come back and give it another crack, but I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying puzzle game.
Was expecting something relaxing and beautiful but it was actually quite tricky and puzzle-y, but still very beautiful.
I don't know why everyone calls this a city builder. It's a puzzle game and a good one at that. The difficulty can be adjusted enough to make this game as difficult or as zen as you want. When this game first came out it was a bit light on content, but they've added a whole new area as a free update which I think makes it more worth a buy.
Not sure that city-builder or strategy are totally valid genres definition for Terra Nil, though puzzle is more on point. It’s kinda builder - terraformer game, since your aim is to restore planet from irradiated wasteland to green sustainable world and return animal species along with satisfaction of their needs. So gameplay is what has most accent on here - you’re presented with planet separated into zone that you work through gradually. Your goal is same every time - fulfilling climate conditions, spread vegetation zones, introduce animals and satisfy their needs. However, you’re given different maps (most are generated anew each time you start the zone), tools and what conditions, greens and beats would be there. You’re free to use available instruments however you like to finish the mission. But here comes puzzle part - a lot of stuff needs to be placed carefully and strategically to avoid locking yourself out of completion, which might happen quite few times. There is also “price” for usage of all the stuff, but have never ran out of currency to use those, not even close. You’d have to do lots of things - cleanse toxins, radiation, replant grass, burn vegetation to nurture land for forest, grow reefs, lower or increase temperature, humidity, pressure, dredge ocean, salinate and freeze waters, cool lava - quite a range of activities. And after restoration of land, you remove all traces of humans involvement, leaving pristine nature. Without much cutting edge uber realistic visuals developers managed to create very impressive graphics for Terra Nil, it’s like lots old 2d hand crafted backgrounds, but with modern touch up. Not everything looks equally great, but for the most part, it’s very calming, colourful natural appearance. Buildings and some animals care those bit less good things, but they are balanced out by your guide book that has flora, fauna, schematics in it and those are feast for the eyes. Plot is just that - planet is done, you’re renewing in. Music matches general feel, but in my opinion less impactful compared to visuals. Sounds on the other hand are very much doing heavy lifting in adding atmosphere and immersion, water, rain, leaves, bird cries do seem rather lo-fi, greatly enhancing your experience.
