The best tennis game. Highly recommend the XKT mod.

I had tried this game in the past but for some reason it didn't click, so I played Full Ace instead. But I wanted to try it again, since it has cool features, WTA players, career mode, etc. So I gave it a second chance, got some mods, tweaked some settings... and then it clicked. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this is the best tennis game I've ever played! Now I get the hype. It really is amazing, especially when combined with Tennis Elbow Manager 2, which enhances the career mode.

[h1] TL:DR Amazing gameplay, features and statistics system with ancient animations.[/h1] [b]Pros:[/b] 1) Gameplay. It's hard but fun and rewarding. 2) A deep statistics system that matters a lot in career mode. 3) Low system requirements. 4) A great online experience with friends. 5) Mod support. [b]Cons:[/b] 1) Animations. They are a little better since motion capture was introduced, but they still look stiff and outdated. I mean, even some PS2-era tennis games had better animations. However, this game was made by one person, so I can understand that it has its limits. 2) The default controller bindings. Change them ASAP! I don't know why the default ones use combo buttons when it's possible to remap them so that each function has its own button. 3) Navigating menus with controller. Take it slowly because it is unintuitive and works against any logic. Overall, it's an incredibly fun game made by a passionate developer who spent years working to make it the best possible tennis simulator and always respond to community feedback.

The best tennis game I have ever played. The control system may take a little bit of getting used to, but once you get it and understand it, that's where the game really serves. With a huge number of difficulty settings, you can find the right level for you, and that level will naturally increase as you play the game and get that little bit better yourself (You can change the difficulty during the tour, so no worries about choosing one too easy or too hard). One thing I have really enjoyed is that each opponent is that little bit different, you will beat an opponent 6-0, then against a different opponent you will have to find a way through their defences and find a plucky 6-4 or even 7-6. I often play the 1 set, but you can change that depending on your interests. I love the risk and reward style of playing, you can try that big shot, but it is much harder to pull off than a normal shot, but it may win you the point. As a person who has played tennis before, it feels like I'm actually playing tennis for real here, it's hard to explain that, but if I'm 15-40 down, I genuinely take a second to compose myself, knowing I need to get through the game, nothing beats saving a match-point or two and going on to win the match. The different surfaces also make a difference in terms of bounce, which gives the game proper replay-ability. Finally, some of the XKT mods for the game are great, I would highly recommend. In summary, having played other tennis games in my past and easily getting bored of them after some time, this game continues to bring me back. The game almost feels...dare I say it...perfect? Give it try, it's definitely worth a hit.

if topspin is like diablo, then tennis elbow is like dark soul. it'll re-wire your brain and muscle memory if you're coming from topspin or any other similar games. but each win, gives me that winning satisfaction even it's just a qualifying round for future game. i enjoy it for now, even though the learning process is kinda torturing.

What everyone says about this game: it is all true. It is by far the best sports game out there. Easy to learn, very hard to master. The variety of positioning, stats, type of shots and AI opponent behaviour is incredibly satisfying and challenging. The dev is answering any question minutely and personally (even if he had probably to answer those a million times before). The only negative is the UI and the way how you have to find how to use time so you can train (asked in community=dev answers next day!!!) But beeing normally a real downer it is forgivable here since the gameplay is soooo good! Modsupport through game interface, online play, superb AI - if you like sportsgames, go for it. If you like Tennis - must buy/play: infinite hours of high quality gameplay!

I always thought Full Ace was the greatest tennis game. Kept trying Tennis Elbow on and off but it never really clicked. Then finally it did... and it's the GOAT of tennis games! If in doubt, stick with it, find settings that suit you and go for it!

This Tennis game has a different playstyle then the usual button smashers. I play tennis for about 40 years and played a lot of tennis computer games. This game comes closest to the feeling i want to have when playing tennis. From the way your character moves, the way you hit the ball, it all makes sense. This also creates a large variety of gameplay, useable by the player and the bot. There is so much depth in this game that i could go on for hours about how great this game is for me. 100% worth the money i spend on it. CONS ? not really any cons, only stuff i can think of now is : * The menu or career hub could be less stiff. More "homey". * In career: some manager/agent bot to greet the player to the pro tennis world and be there with the player on his journey would be awesome. Just something to make you feel you are not totally alone up against the top tennis players of the world. * In career: the pre-tourney info is a bit lacking.
