10/!0 Love the banter in the game, and the gameplay loop is addicting
Did you beat Hades and want more Hades? So you got Hades 2, beat that, and want more Hades? But there is no Hades 3 so to scratch that itch you went and tried something like Sworn, but it's missing something like some turtles that are ninjas and have a rat for a guardian? Well do I have a game for you! This is pretty much reminiscent of Hades but with your favorite halfshell pizza loving dudes. Got pretty much the whole cast here too. Try to progress far as you can, get upgrades, die, get sent back to the lair. Get some perm. upgrades, try again. Voice lines change everytime you play the level too like Hades does, so it's not the same script. Replay ability is here also, as some of the unlocks are "Beat so-so with so-so character", and each one has unique voice lines for what you may be doing at the time. Speaking of, the voice acting is tremendous, with a lot of the actors reprising their various roles from the TMNT universe. The soundtrack is tubular, the art is rad, and the gameplay is...pretty smooth for the most part. Some jankiness to where youre aiming at times but I think you can adapt to that. I havent played with friends yet (Because those are rarer than finding a real ninja turtle) but Im sure it would be amazing with 3 more running around. 8/10

A very fun game with a nice vertical slice of a game loop. The devs definitely know what they were doing with it, and it is perfect to unwind after a day's work. It is by no means perfect, but it doesn't strive to be, and it has great replayability value. The strongest point is that it is based off the IDW comic series universe, which is a huge win for me personally, because one of the best TMNT we have gotten in recent years came from IDW (yes, The Last Ronin comic is from them too). Noteworthy of approval is the inclusion of playable characters that come with DLC, like Metalhead, Slash, Casey Jones, and most notably Alopex, a character designed by Kevin Eastman himself, the co-creator of the Turtles. Definitely worth the price.
Nah it's too basic, good for younger players
This is my first real experience consuming TMNT content. Even after all those in-game hours, I still don't know much about them (Sorry, they talk a lot, and my friend is not the most patient person in the world. But I didn't argue about it either, so...) other than their dad that went to get milk and occasionally haunts his children and colleagues. However, the gameplay is really fun, especially with a friend! I do think that roguelike/roguelite type of games shine with online multiplayer. Who doesn't love a good chaos?! YOU WILL ESPECIALLY LOVE MISCLICKING THE CHARACTER UI IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT. WHAT A KEYBOARD+MOUSE FRIENDLY GAME.
