infinitely replayable, hopelessly addictive. immense art. thank you
This game is quickly going to become one of my favorite games of all time, the combat, folklore, storytelling, and performance, it's great but there are some issues that I personally feel are serious enough to really annoy me and cause me to close it sooner than I want to. I only have 5 hours into the game though, and plan to continue playing for dozens more after I quit crying here. There obviously is much more that I need to unlock. The roguelite style upgrades, which I enjoy in most other games feel very weak here. There is really only one of them that feels like it's worth it and that's the explosive dodge, other than that nothing really seems worth a choice at all, at least to me. I do not notice their effects, the abilities they are tied to aren't worth using, often leaving only one of the three available choices they provide worth picking. I do not feel like they make me stronger at all, and I am annoyed when I have to pick one, I could go a whole run without one and it wouldn't make a difference. Next is healing. What the ♥♥♥♥ are we supposed to do about that again? This issue is tied alongside the coins that you earn in battle, which can be used to open up little chests on the battlefield and give you charms, or they can be used to purchase health.......... this means they will only be used on healing because recovering health is almost impossible. I understand the "get good" argument here, but there seriously needs to be an dependable way to gain back health every level that doesn't cost all of the currency I have gained over multiple levels to gather. Eating the roast chickens or whatever they are does not return enough health to get you back into the fight and spending coins on the healing shrines (that aren't guaranteed on every run) makes it impossible to have enough currency to open the little gear chests. Healing's just gotta be addressed, it's super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. There are a couple types of captains that need to be balanced in my opinion. The lance captains specifically animation cancel you in the corniest way, and having to "strike, dodge, strike, dodge" so on and so on to kill them feels boring. Wallaces heavy attack is useless. It completely stops your movement to deliver an exhaustingly slow downstrike which does underwhelming damage, better off not using it. Like I said, I have a lot of the game left to play, the devs have made it very apparent within the game that this game is deep in terms of its systems and meta progression. I love that element, I love the customization, the sick ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ celt metal, the idea of new playable characters..... maybe I am just bad with wallace (the first playable character) I dont know! But I love the game still and will eventually find out. This game is fun, you're probably a better gamer than I am, buy it and lmk.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just pure fun. Co-op chaos, crazy builds, and I can't stop playing. My soldiers feel like my actual squad now.
Genuinely a great game. SCOTLAND FOREVER!!!!
fun blood swords scottland!!!!
10/10 a lot of fun and a lot of content for an EA title. Suprise buy of the year.
A fun mashup between Hades and dynasty warriors! a challenging yet rewarding experience!
Solid gameplay - interested in the mid/late game given the rogue-like mechanics.
I really like it. Little too expensive for any of my friends to pick it up. After about 15 hours I hit a wall where there wasn't really much reason to keep playing. I'll for sure put another dozen hours in after a couple content updates.
