Super charming and cute game. It can be pretty confusing near the beginning, since the game doesn't really give you any instructions, but I didn't find myself lost for all that long. The game is definitely some type of homage to retro platformers, and I think it does do pretty well here. However, Tanglewood is clearly designed to be played played on said retro consoles, rather than on PC, so the game can play somewhat janky at times. As for the game itself, I think that the pixel graphics look quite nice, and the animations of the foxes look even better. The child fox, Echo, is both the best and the worst part of this game. On the one hand, he is incredibly adorable and has some amazing moments late game. On the other hand, though, I can't explain how annoying it can be when he gets stuck about 4 miles back, and you have to backtrack so he can make the simplest jump of all time. Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game. It kept me coming back consistently until I 100%'d it, and I don't regret a second playing this game. I don't think it is worth the full $18 it is being sold for (I got my copy as part of a larger bundle of games), but if you see it on sale or as part of another bundle, I definitely recommend giving it a try. I'd rate this game a solid 7.2 out of 10.

Ecco the Dolphox Do you like 16 bit platformers? Do you like 16 bit puzzlers? If you answered yes to either of those then you should give this game a try. Completed it on my SEGA Genesis using an Everdrive (purchasing on Steam includes a Genesis Rom), but fired it up for a minute on PC so I could leave this review.
This is an incredible game by all means. It brings back that 90s Genesis era and essence of gaming all wrapped into your fingers as a modern game. The game is simplistic and easy to understand as you play. Positives: 1. Original 16 bit graphics 2. Controls for both keyboard/mouse and gamepad are perfect 3. Game mechanics are well constructed and easy to understand for solving 4. You play as a cute fox creature! Negatives: More critiques and less of a negative outlook at the game 1. The game does have bugs that in a way keep the charm of old classic Genesis games 2. I will say that the game has no tutorial of any kind so its completely user error with learning controls and how to understand the mechanics for puzzles. 3. Screw the squirrels and little hog creatures!!!
Liked it alot

Honestly one of my favourite games ever, it's not necessarily for everyone but the ost, art and story arc make it one of my favourite games, also very nostalgic
me encanta!
a beautiful & heartbreaking piece of art (played on a real Mega Drive)
