Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 6.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
I bought Sonic Origins Plus to pause and play on my second screen while waiting for calls, but the performance is unacceptable. The game runs below 30 FPS, which is baffling when I can get smoother frame rates running the emulator version on a calculator. It is deeply perplexing that a 35-year-old 2D game performs so poorly on a modern PC, proving that emulation remains essential for playable performance. This lazy, unoptimized port cannot even run on hardware exponentially more powerful than the original console, serving as a stark reminder of why bad PC ports are still a major issue.
While it is a cute collection with animations, missions, and a coin/token system allows you to retry special stages which can be convenient... it still has a very frequent bug which kills your entire save file. Even if you take care to close the game properly, you will find just booting into the game it will not let you play until you delete the save and lose all progress. This means all of your in-game progress, missions, achievements, unlocks etc. In the process of just playing through Sonic 1, CD and 2 I lost my progress several times and the unlocks became meaningless. Which begs the question: if they refuse to fix this issue, what's the point in this port? I cannot recommend playing the games through this collection for as long as the save system is so utterly broken. You may be better off getting an external list of retro achievements, watching the animations elsewhere, and playing the original games.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Could've been a great collection, but unfortunately misses the mark in almost every category. Lots of low res art in the museum, music collection is lacking, UI is boring, Game Gear emulation is laggy, and in general the performance on PC is very inconsistent. The actual remasters themselves are just buggier versions of the mobile versions of 1, 2, and CD, with a brand new objectively worse version of Sonic 3, with lots of bugs and missing objects. The audio mixing is all over the place, none of it sounds good. There's mods that fix these issues, such as Sonic Origins Ultrafix, Museum Plus, and the HQ OST mods, but this collection shouldn't need a ton of mods just for the bare minimum. For $30, this collection is a joke. A big name developer like SEGA shouldn't be constantly outclassed by fans doing stuff in their spare time.
Why are the menus so darn heavy?! This collection would have been perfect for my cheap laptop. The laptop can handle the games of this collection perfectly fine, but not the menus, and that's just... ABSURD! I could BARELY get to any of the games without my laptop crashing. Yet, if I somehow was able to make it to one of the games, then I could easily play!
while these games are great, i can't bring myself to recommend this collection considering the $30 price point (it still feels like a scam on sales) the main menu feels like a way of raising the system requirements for no reason (not that i can't handle low fps at menus myself) the game gear games also feel like a way of raising the price even though you could've used the master system or even genesis versions i would tell you to play these games in other ways but they made it impossible to do so without piracy
not that anti denuvo has been removed. Game runs great, super fun. Older comments reflect when denuvo would cause lag and other nonsense which is no longer the case. Buncha QOL changes: Like in sonic 1 you can play without lives but the "lives" you collect can be used as restarts for the emerald challenges
This collection is good if you mod it, and that's it. Base game is very subpar and not worth the price at all. Friendly reminder to people that this collection had a mostly negative rating on steam until relatively recently. The only thing that changed was more community mods coming out and fixes Sega's crappy product. The game itself didn't ever get fixed so I'm leaving a negative review
Bad at launch but it's a decent way to play the originals now. Most issues like music are ironed out with mods. Would only recommend buying it on a sale though, SEGA delisting the old games was a bad move.
Download the Sonic Origins Ultrafix mod if you buy this game, it improves the whole experience by leaps and bounds
