About
Seikyu is a quiet island sanctuary, hidden far from the noise of the human world. Here, yokai spirits live in harmony with nature and the turning seasons.
You and your sister begin your new lives in an old farmhouse - a place filled with memories, and room to begin anew. There's always something to tend, someone to chat with, or a quiet corner you haven't discovered yet.
Seikyu isn't a place you rush through. It's a place you can return to.

Your days follow a rhythm you create. Tend the farm, wander into town, or follow a path you haven't explored before. Some days you'll harvest. Some days you'll decorate. Some days you'll stumble across something you weren't expecting.
Expand your fields at your own pace, grow seasonal crops, and raise chickens, cows, sheep, and capybaras. Craft furniture and gradually create a space that feels like home.

The people of Seikyu have their own lives, routines, and quiet worries. Torleone, the thoughtful otter fisherman. Sasaki, the well-meaning carpenter who's always in the middle of a project. Nyotengu, the watchful guardian of the island skies.
Spend time with them and you'll start to notice the small changes - new dialogue, shared traditions, and story moments that unfold naturally over time. Their stories are interwoven, and yours will become part of that tapestry.

As a descendant of the Fox Clan, you carry the gift of shapeshifting. Transform to experience the island in new ways - charge through fields as a boar, soar on the wind as a tengu, or slip beneath the waves as a water spirit. Each form opens new corners of Seikyu: hidden ruins, distant hilltops, and sunken treasures.

Cherry blossoms give way to summer heat. Autumn leaves fall. Snow settles on the rooftops. Seikyu lives and breathes through every season, shaping the crops you grow, the festivals you attend, and the pace of life around you.

i love this game!
Short review: It's Stardew Valley meets Breath of the Wild, very fun, beautiful scenery, beautiful booba, okay story, go play it. Long review: After 2 playthroughs and 200+ hours later, I can safely say this was one of the most addicting farm sims I ever played. It's amazing what the 3rd dimension adds in comparison with the rest of the genre in terms of both gameplay and immersion. I love 2d pixel graphics as much as anyone, but the 3d models definitely makes the characters feel more alive and real. Speaking of the characters, they are all fairly well written, likable, and distinct from one another. What shines in particular is the 9 bachelors and 9 bacheloretes that you may choose to romance, as there are no shortage of gorgeous babes or stunning hunks to be found in Seikyu, like the bodacious Tengu warrior woman Nyotengu or the studdly minotaur blacksmith Hephaestus. And once you actually get to know these characters, you'll be surprised by the deph of their personalities, and occasionally even have your heartstrings tugged at by their often traumatic backstories. The gameplay is as you might expect, split up largely between managing your farm ala planting-watering-fertilizing-harvesting crops, animal husbandry, and processing raw produce into more valuable ingredients and recipes on one side, and exploring above and below the island (in the Kitsune ruins) of Seikyu as you search for raw materials and treasures on the other. Inbetween these ventures you will also frequently run into story and side quests given by the NPCs that often serve to open up further opportunities for exploration. You will also frequently encounter enemy mobs both on the overworld and in the dungeon who are not super difficult to deal with except in the first few hours of the game. I played on the hardest difficulty for reference, which I recommend since otherwise the game's combat's way too easy (Elden Ring this is not). As for the farming grind, it's as enjoyable as it normally is in these kinds of games and by far the best way to make money in this game with the dopamine hit of seeing your profit margins rise an added bonus. One thing I apprciated is that the value of cooking recipes actually takes into account the value of your ingredients (unlike in some other games in the genre I've played), so there actually is a point to the cooking mechanics beyound making gifts for the NPCs as it's almost always in your best interests to process everything your farm produces. Now for the narrative and story, which I have a lot to say about despite the fact that it's very much a typical fantasy JRPG and farm sim fare. You and your little sister Kon, a pair of kitsune who are apparently the last of their kind, arrive at their ancestral homeland on the remote and beautiful island of Seikyu, where they become the local farmer, monster hunter, saviour of the day, etc. While this aspect of the game is certainly servicable, it's also definitely a mixed bag in terms of quality and especially how the story meshes with gameplay. While, as mentioned, the individual characters have charming and compelling arcs and personalties, the story as a whole is actually rather bland in a way. A particular gripe of mine is due to the game really striving to maintain this "comfy" vibe at any cost, and so as consequence everything from malevolent deities threatening to blow up the whole island to you being caught commiting adultery ends up having next to no actual narrative or gameplays stakes attached to it. No one dies, no one leaves the island forever, and no one ends up hating your guts. It goes without saying that you're also not really allowed to be evil or mean as the narrative is strictly attempting to portray you as an upstanding pillar of the community, which leads to this hillarious ludonarrative dissonance that grows as you become wealthier and more "aquainted" with the NPCs. By the mid to endgame you're basically Seikyu's JD Rockerfeller or Elon Musk as you're a man (or woman) essentially running an industrial farming opration and manufacturing hub that's hoovering up all the islands resources, undercutting the local merchants, and would IRL be generating a ton of noise and pollution. On top of that, you can also become a total womanizer or floozy that sleeps with almost the entire town completely without consequence, even though the narrative via conversations with certain characters tells you very clearly that Seikyu is a place that values monogamy and exclusivity; the devs straight up chickened out of that aspect of the game entirely. Beyond some often amusing reactions from the NPCs, getting caught cheating has no real downsides or negative gameplay affects whatsoever; your paramours will still act as if nothing happened the very next day. On top of that, the devs recently added the ability to break up with characters or get together with ones previously friendzoned in the strangest and most cowardly way possible. Rather than say adding a dialogue option that intiates a break-up or changes your relationship with a character, instead now Tales of Seikyu has you perform a dark pagan ritual that essentially brainwashes the targeted NPC into loving you or forgetting that they're your lover. WTF is this really all that better than making some people feel guilty for breaking up with a character in person!? Well anyway, despite my gripes with the tone and much of the relationship mechanics of the story, it still is a lot of fun.
Unique take on Stardew Valley, Coral Island, etc. type farm sim/exploration/minor combat games. Very story rich. As pre-release, it has a few bugs and could use some dialog enhancements. But overall it is an enjoyable play.
Basic confusing missandrist trash which also gives no clues in game for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it ask for .
