A solid spiritual successor to games like skyrim. Dont expect a triple A experience but a fun one nonetheless. If they add some official mod support i feel it could go far
Really surprised by this game. Got the free demo and immediately knew there was something special here. Builds were so fun to play around with. I focused a lot on Spirituality and one hand combat. Found that play style to suit me the best. Story was surprisingly engaging as well.

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
TLDR - Good but janky. 7.5 / 10
Spoiler free details below.
Graphics:
Actually not very good. It's dated and stiff. Looks like a game from 2010.
Gameplay:
Kinda janky, honestly. Feels a lot like original Morrowind or Gothic 1. It has a special charm for sure, though.
Story:
Started out strong but lost momentum after a while.
Maps and world:
Surprisingly big and open world to explore. It will take you a lot of time if you want to do all the quests and extras.
Sound and music:
The music was pretty good. Big drums, incantation and magic-sounding and nordic inspired. I quite liked it. Sounds are OK. Voice acting is solid.
Technical:
I've been able to soft-lock myself a few times while exploring. Getting stuck in terrain, falling through terrain without collision, or ending up in a room without exits and such. It's fun to explore everywhere you can but the game will punish you for it :)
Controls:
I've had no issues. Played with both kb/m and Xbox-controller.
Worth the money?
I bought it at ~50% off. Roughly 20 euro. I feel it was worth it.
Verdict:
It compares to vanilla Skyrim and games like that. It's janky and feels a bit dated but still rather well made. I kind of numbed off around 2/3 of the story and rushed to the ending, though... which I haven't completed yet. Not sure I'll actually bother. I feel I've grown tired of it. I could probably have added 20 more hours for the remaining content.
The strongest part of the game is its dark, creepy and mysterious world. Exploration actually feels rewarding: abandoned ruins, hidden locations, notes, caves and small stories are scattered everywhere, constantly encouraging you to go off the beaten path. It has that old-school RPG feeling, similar to Oblivion, where exploring the world itself becomes a major part of the adventure. The character progression is also well done. Building your character feels meaningful, and new abilities or equipment can noticeably change your playstyle. The combat system is surprisingly solid - parries, blocks and dodges make fights more dynamic and prevent them from becoming simple button mashing. The dialogue and storytelling deserve special mention as well. The game does not reveal everything immediately, instead letting the player slowly piece together the lore and the bigger picture through exploration and conversations. It has its rough edges, but the strong atmosphere, deep worldbuilding and classic RPG elements make Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon one of the most interesting RPGs in recent years.
Gothic Skyrim Plus with new, better animations. Enough said.
Good presentation and setting, combat's kinda meh tho, will probably get it again when it's price lowers
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece filled to the brim with quests, fully voice acted NPCs with their backstories, unbelievably intuitive, combat is fun, quests are mostly deep, 11 out of 10 (i dont usually leave revievs before finishing the game but this one.. wow) (1st game ever I believe, where I've read all of the books and letters and it was awesome decision, I recommend to do so)
Alles in Allem ist Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon jeden einzelnen Cent wert.
10/10 across the board. Thanks for the bonus DLCs, I'm looking forward to the major paid add-ons.
