An engaging historical game which tells the story of a village at the end of WWII from multiple viewpoints. The story is told through a series of well-acted fmv interviews, with dialogue choice, encyclopedia entries and mini-games. Though released four years ago, this is a timely game for early 2025, for reasons that are all too obvious in light of recent events.

This is a rarity in the gaming world, historical fiction. If you are a WW2 historian, you'll absolutely enjoy this game. The story is compelling, there are a few twists that make you want to learn more as you go along. You'll also have a choice at the end which isn't huge, but makes for an interesting thought exercise. Very interesting game about a part of history that is not often talked about. Not only is this game informative, it also shows the ambivalence of the subject. The video sequences are very well made, the actors are good and the comicbook scenes also look nice. The only complaint I have is the German subtitles having quite a few errors but that's a minor complaint. Give this game a go if you're interested in history!
The game features some insights in what it was like in European countries after the WW2. It's always sad when people act on their worst of the feelings. History wise very interesting and beautifully drawn game. But it's short and being non-linear make it worse, not better.
Im austrian, with mixed german and czech heritage from the little city of iglau/jihlava and what can i say i really love this game! The actors all were pretty good, and i loved talking to every character. Even the little mini games were pretty well made, so yeah i really really like Svoboda 1945! Just an amazing story driven game
