Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 17 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There is no way to terraform the terrain and it has very strict terrain boundary, and the expedition map makes me feel like I am playing a chess alike game. I think Endzone is a comparatively better game.

I cannot recommend this version of the game. It was fine, until they demand the paradox launcher, which won't allow my game to launch. Now I have to find another way to run my game I already bought. GOG has this game as well, buy it there, so you don't have this crappy launcher wasting bytes and rendering your game installation useless. Edit: You can bypass the launcher, by going straight to the executable. However, that also means instead of viewing your steam library, and clicking launch, you now have to go folder diving to the game and waste time. My review still stands, GOG is easier and faster. You get a worse experience with this version.
this game and most of paradox games are now slop, they focus on expansions/DLC dont buy into this companies like this need to learn where it hurts more their pocket. TL;DR game is boring i only played it once and never came back.
It's such a poorly thought out dumpster fire, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it, or won't in the future. It has it's charm. That being said, I'd say it's a prime example, of what selling your early access to Epic does for development. No forums, no communication with the fanbase, no direction. This game's such a mess of poor ideas baffling design choices, and just straight up insane balancing. It's also missing frickin basic functionality, like work overview. Thing all the silly mobile games have now even. UI's a mess, difficulty spikes are insane, DLC's don't work together at all. They're insane in their own right. The infamous Shattered Hope for example. While the side content is fairly decent, that the hope mechanic is just bad. I feel there's no other way to put it, it's just fkn dumb as all hell. Like, legit, imagine that, your entire colony's extatic, your life's perfect, yet they'll still enter "Anguish", and will literally TURN HOSTILE AND START DESTROYING YOUR TOWN, just because some arbitrary DLC introduced "Hope" meter is at 2/3rds. Also that's how mental issues work, yes. They can't get over anguish, they can't get better. U need to waste resources on trauma centers. How do you rise hope, so anguish doesn't happen then, I hear u ask? Well, u have to waste resources on "feasts". Yes, stuffing your fkn face is the only way to rise hope. Stuffing ur face with PLASTIC I might add, as feasts take next to no food, but over 130 plastic to pull. And in grand scheme of things, Hope does nothing. It's there to hinder you, and that's it. You can literally pay to make your game worse. You get like, 2 or 3 buildings, that are pretty useless, and don't tie to the hope system at all. Overdrive is useless, how does fkn moon dust tie to making hunters hunt better is beyond me too. You get what I mean? It's just a dumpster fire, a horrible frankensteins monster of terrible ideas. BUT, see BUT, it has its charm. Inside this freakish monstrocity is a game that CAN be enjoyed. I just really wish, they held their early access in a place that actually mattered, and received much, much more valuable feedback. By the time game hit steam, it was already too late. Devs abandoned it too, so there's that. To conclude, I dunno. Grab it if you want, It'll be on u. Reading reviews, pff, telling you what to buy. Make up your own mind. I told u how the game is, I'm not here to sell it. Also I had a colony of over 80 people, my economy crapped itself, over 50 people died, Hope and Happiness at all time high. Mostly due to removal of debuffs based on population. You see what I mean? It's such a terrifying little monster, but god, it has its charm. I played Endzone too, btw. Between the two? Grab Endzone, god it's so much better. Things Aftermath has over Endzone: world map, specialists, vehicles, and vehicle maintenance. That's it. In terms of post apocalyptic city building? Endzone's just king. It has it's faults, of course it does, but yeah. Nowhere near as many as Aftermath.
Worker AI is STILL bugged as far as taking care of their needs are concerned. I look at reddit and steam threads from years ago with the die-off problems (at least one of which the devs acknowledged the problem and said they were looking into it), and yet I have the same problems today. I guess there are stupid gamey work-arounds to deal with the problem, but they are unintuitive and not mentioned anywhere in the game. Otherwise pretty fun, I guess, when your guys aren't killing themselves of hunger or disease just because they are too busy to pick up food and medicine that's right next to their houses.
Surviving the Aftermath : 6/10 - Okay I enjoy many of Paradox’s titles: Cities Skylines was a superb city builder with plenty of modding potential, despite its overwhelming amount of DLCs that arguably could’ve been included at launch. Europa Universalis IV (EU4) is an addictive strategy simulation with countless potential playthroughs and the ability to create dynasties. Meanwhile, Crusader Kings II (CKII) and Crusader Kings III (CKIII) dive deeper into dynasty simulations with rich character development, and Surviving Mars offers a fun and imaginative take on the future of Mars colonization. Surviving the Aftermath is a title I purchased a while ago during a sale, and I was genuinely excited to try it out. The concept of post-apocalypse survival intrigues me, as it opens up opportunities for engaging scenarios and creative control. However, this title is skippable. It was released around the same time as Endzone: A World Apart, which is a superior game, albeit only slightly. The two games are very similar, especially regarding building and resource collection mechanics. That said, the world map mechanic in Surviving the Aftermath is a fun distraction from the building management, allowing you to find resources and science points for your camp. The art style is great and fits the world built here, reminding me of Frostpunk. The graphics are good overall; the animals and wildlife look nice. However, the human models are goofy and awkward, resembling stiff board game pieces. Despite this, the map overview is visually appealing. Let’s talk about the combat—it is simple and easy to learn. It’s nothing special and isn’t particularly thrilling. You start off by fighting small threats like rats and giant insects, but what doesn’t make sense is how they start fires and burn your buildings down. I understand human enemies doing so, but animal enemies? It feels unrealistic and takes away from the immersion. The combat could’ve used more development. When using the map, the UI can get in the way, making it irritating to control where your scouts go. The “return to colony” button, in particular, could be smaller. The inclusion of main missions that guide you through the story adds more depth, and the story itself could be interesting in a better game. However, the main gameplay might not be engaging enough to keep your interest throughout the entire story or motivate you to complete all the achievements. The challenge mode offers a different way to play, making survival harder—a nice bonus. Still, if you’ve played Endzone, you might not find much incentive to invest time in this game. While strategy and survival game enthusiasts could spend over 10 hours plus on it, I lost interest rather quickly. It often feels like a watered-down Endzone. Overall, Surviving the Aftermath is a fun distraction, but it's not a game I will spend a lot of hours on. I'm sure many people will enjoy it and find it to be a great experience, but I found it boring, perhaps because I’ve played Endzone before. If you're a diehard fan of strategy, city-building, or simulation games, you could definitely find some enjoyment in it.
a decent post apocalyptic colony sim. its not my favorite by far, as there are many glaring issues with the core gameplay that make it somtimes a annoyance to play. the weather system for example is interesting as an idea but in practice its just me fixing me buildings constantly from random damage. its almost a really good building game but it lacks depth and variety alot making it very "meh" a better map would do wonders for this game
