About

Plan ahead, outsmart enemies and progress a world of dark creatures and cunning evil. Utilize playful and tactile weaponry in visceral and intense combat. Create unique builds by combining weapons, gear, tools, and enchantments to suit your playstyle. Whether you’re a gun-blazing risk-taker or a careful strategist, the choice is yours. Adapt your approach, experiment, and survive the dangers of Sulfur.

Enter a world packed with relentless action, powerful firearms, and dynamic FPS combat, where unpredictable enemies lurk in every shadow. Arm yourself with an array of weapons that can be modified and enchanted with a vast range of attachments and effects.
As you explore, uncover hidden secrets, collect valuable loot, and discover rare treasures – but tread carefully. Every decision counts: the gear you bring may be lost if you fail, and the equipment you leave behind won't be there when you need it most. Risk and reward are tightly intertwined in every choice you make.

Experience the atmosphere, suspense and tribulation of a world in redemption. What happened? And why? Travel through eerie caverns, sordid Black Guild shanties, putrid sewers and pass through castle walls and beyond. Go deeper, head on. Answers come to those who listen.

Explore, discover, uncover. On your adventure you encounter strange creatures in unexpected places—pay attention to their warnings. Whether they despise, admire, or ignore you, your path is yours to forge. Stay alert; these encounters may offer insights, but ultimately, it’s up to you to push forward and find the answers you seek.

A bloodstained white collar
Dirt on your shoes
Your shoulders are aching
Is this but a ruse?
A coven is suspect
A church is aflame
Who is the culprit?
Who is to blame?
Ocean screaming,
Twisting turning
Mouth is dry,
Eyes are burning
But you must tread on,
There is no remorse

I don't like to write reviews, but I think this game is massively underrated, and I would strongly recommend it to any shooter fans out there. It gets compared to extraction shooters a lot, but I think this is a little misguided. The extraction shooter elements are extremely light, so if this gives you pause, please do not be dissuaded. You can basically exit any level instantly, on demand, as long as you pay a small fee to recharge your amulet (it does not feel small at the very start, but it is). These elements have only gotten lighter with the recent addition of multiple difficulty settings. It still has a great looter shooter vibe, but the extraction elements are very light. Of course, you can always challenge yourself by running into an area with an empty inventory and an uncharged amulet and just work with what you find - this is a lot of fun and quite viable because of cooking mechanics (see a few paragraphs down). On the other hand, if you consider yourself a more "serious" type and feel dissuaded by the cute art style, I will add that the cuteness of many of the enemies creates a bit of a funny juxtaposition with the incredible violence you can commit with a well-built gun. Do not judge a book by its cover - blood and gore enjoyers will be satisfied with the bloodstains, gibs and body part drops (which you can cook with!) in this game. Speaking of which, the cooking system is a lot of fun. There are tons of recipes for all sorts of foods, and you can find cookbooks if you don't feel like spending the time experimenting or looking up recipes. It used to be that you had to just know the recipes, which I kind of liked. But these days, the game keeps track of recipes you discover for you, and shows what you can craft with what you have - I have grown to like this because of the sheer number of recipes. It's still rewarding to know recipes by heart so you can prioritize keeping more useful ingredients in your inventory until you find a cooking station. It's very fun to craft good healing items from trash and body parts you find on the ground. It gives you the opportunity to be resourceful, which I find one of the most satisfying feelings. Gun building in Sulfur gets a lot of credit for its depth and complexity, and I think it deserves that. It's not on the same level as wand building in Noita (another fantastic game), but it's considerable. There are quite a few fun ways to build guns, and lots of approaches are viable on some guns but not others. It can sometimes have a sort of "ARPG gem slot" or "STALKER artifact slot" feel where you try to cancel out the negatives of some enchantments with others to achieve the overall effect you want. Except some of the enchantments get wild and wacky, and working around them can be a worthy exercise - so it's frequently a lot more rewarding than just balancing minuses with pluses. Overall, fantastic game, and very great, very active devs. The game has been getting a lot of content updates for a while now, and occasionally some balancing changes that have disappointed some. But for what it's worth, I think most of the balance changes have been well-reasoned, even when they affect my playstyle (I miss the old Matrix Oil). I think the devs are doing the right things and deserve all the success they can get. Bottom line, this is one of my favorite games ever made, and I would love to see it blow up - if you're on the fence, I would strongly, strongly recommend giving it a chance.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Cool game, building variety and overall entertaining, but the achievements are just a HUGE GRIND, nothing special about them, which is a shame...
Good

Juego muy completo para ser un early access, gran concepto e historia interesante, +1 a los desarrolladores
卧槽tmd这么好的Doomlike游戏的你咋不早点告诉我 记得把水平和垂直的视野系数拉大 不然会晕3D
SULFUR is a special gem of a game that I haven't seen anywhere else. It's not a flawless game but this game features the most active and community oriented devs in all of steam. If you make a post about a bug, within a week, your bug will be fixed, period. There's also a special charm to this game. The gunplay is solid even at worst it's solid. The soundtrack isn't anything special (until endless where they light a guitar on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fire and cook up a storm). The UI and menuing is all very intuitive and doesn't force-feed you a tutorial on how to play the game, which is nice. Lastly, the guns themselves were created by an absolute madman. A madman who really understands what a pocket-minigun is and why a lawnmower engine can totally be a part in a gun.
5/5 10/10 one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. A very fair roguelite, you do get better equipment as you go but every enemy is dangerous if you don't pay attention. the art, weapons, items, and world is a little bit silly and wonky and funny but it's a very serious, balanced, and fun game. also appreciate the deep cooking system kind of a weird inclusion but i'm here for it
vibe is there
