Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Same day: best RU #79, worst CN #98 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.57/day in the week to Sep 1 → 10.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Steve Pardo - Rite of the Deep.

HUGE downgrade in every single aspect possible to the first game. The environment and biomes are incredibly shallow, unoriginal, and uninteresting. The map is much smaller compared to the original, and the bast part, over half of it is made up of huge, EMPTY icy surfaces, in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UNDERWATER game. Sure, the first game had the islands, but those had good reasons to be there, this game has no reason to like this. Story in this game is also the most cliche, uninspired POS, giving you no reason to actually want to explore the world, i had no desire or idea why the ♥♥♥♥ should i care about any of this, unlike with the first game. Also, do you really expect me to believe that some old hag survived all these years alone on the planet? Definitely believeable devs, and not woke at all! As for the characters, there is no good character to speak of. As if it wasn't enough you play as a typical sassy black woman, with only other characters worth mentioning being an unlikeable old hag from the first game, your black scientist sister(wow so many black scientists in this game, surely not DEI, chud!), who's just as uninteresting as the MC, and Al-An, who constantly yaps in your ear in the most annoying way possible, because clearly the devs don't understand that the eerie, lonely atmosphere of the first game was partially what made it so good. I don't think there's a single enemy/animal in this game i would call interesting, they're all just incredibly annoying and loud, or just completely forgettable and non-threatening, unlike the original game, which had all the memorable leviathans. I honestly couldn't name you a single interesting animal from this game, definitely not by their name. The penguins are kinda cool though, i'll atleast give them that. Overall, this game is a forgettable, incredibly shallow 'sequel' (if you can even call it that) to the original, beloved (even by me) subnautica, and i regret ever buying this and spending my time on it.
Instead of listening to the haters you should listen to the voice inside your head. If you see this game on sale buy it.
The feel of open ocean and beauty of original SubNautica is not here. Tunnels, tunnels, caves. Feels claustrophobic and repetitive. The story line is primitive too.
This game was a serious step down from the first Subnautica. The zones and world are smaller and the new vehicle added is clunky and cannot fit into the smaller spaces in caves, even those pivotal to progression. I won't spoil too much but there is even an element of the story that can be skipped completely i you just don't fell like doing it.
Shorter than the original game. More narration, with 2 NPC. Different vehicules, monsters and recipes. Some exploration on land with a frost meter.
Forced myself to play through this game and it was not nearly as good as the first one. Whole time playing the game it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The seatruck was a piece of ♥♥♥♥, no devs i don't want to drive the modular dildomachine 9000 for the entirety of the game. Bring my goat Riley back.
