Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.57/day in the week to Sep 1 → 10.43/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very addictive game
Decent storyline although not quite linear. Missing some of the exploration of the original game but still fun overall.
I played this with the Submersed VR mod. Which is fantastic; Subnautica is a beautiful game, and VR just enhances the experience. I'm reminded of the old Lego submarine sets where you could build bases and vehicles with smaller vehicles inside, which was amazing content. So if you have a VR set, make the effort of installing Submersed. Of course, there is some mod jank, but it was all tolerable at least for me. On the game itself: It's mostly just more Subnautica. You basically do all the things that you did in Subnautica, but in a more conscise form. The area is shallower and smaller, meaning you don't really need more than just one base. Plus, the Seatruck can basically perform all duties of the base. One thing that I kind of missed was the lonely atmosphere of the original, where it is just survival and figuring out things as you go. In Below Zero, there are a couple of characters (including the player), who have dialogue with you. It creates a different sort of feel, and I felt more like checking boxes than exploring and figuring things out myself. The map was also a bit annoying to navigate, because I couldn't for the life of me find the last place to go, as it wasn't in the deepest part. I also decided that I don't like the construction requirements for a lot of base-building, since it requires a metric ton of different materials, which, combined with the less-than-stellar inventory space, made it tedious to build large things. And there were a couple of things that really bugged me. One is the lack of autosave, which made life feel precarious; One crash could delete hours of progress, if you were not diligent. Also, the Finnish translation had a crucial mistake: Sam's dialogue transcript was missing an important detail on the location of an item. Not a huge problem, but it made quick referral unnecessarily difficult.

Honestly, I would not recommend this game. Incomparable to the first one. Unlike the first one, you start the game on a rescue mission in search of your lost sister instead of accidentally crash landing. They decide to add your character to have dialog. I thought it was gonna be a cool change from the first one to actually have a different feel to the story. Your character ends up becoming more or less annoying. Talking about herself and her feelings constantly. To finally find someone else in the game, just to find out that they're just as annoying and unhelpful as your own character. When you find out what happened to your sister, your person doesn't care and moves on with the rest of the poorly written story. Besides the poorly written storyline there is a creative world full of nothing. The world's full of new biomes and creatures that seem interesting, but, there's nothing there, it's empty. Although the map was small, I felt like I kept running in circles and getting lost. It seemed so much harder to navigate than the first 1. It's extremely hard to find things to scan to research. And once you find items to create and craft, there's almost no point to do any of it. The world's half the size of the original game, and yet it feels like it takes twice as long to get anywhere. They got rid of the cyclone and added the sea truck, which absolutely sucks. So they added a bit more land exploration, which seemed pretty cool, but the thing is, you can't survive more than 30 seconds on land. And they made our woman character not able to jump over anything. I'm talking about small rocks. No, you're not jumping over nothing. You can make a snowsuit, but by the time you figure that out, you can already make a prawn suit and just finish the whole land spot. The gameplay was OK. I was just upset with how short the game was and how empty I felt after beating it. It felt purposeless to collect and build up a base or do anything cool with any of the new stuff they added. I didn't even get to build an aquarium because why? The first one you had to go back and farm and get materials and set up a whole base that was efficient enough to build a launchpad to beat the game. In this game, you don't even need the prawn suit. Just to collect a couple items and then beat the game. It just kind of felt boring, disappointing and not exciting. The only upside, the gameplay was smooth and not too buggy. The graphics were good. And the creatures were quite interesting to look at. It was cool to learn about the new alien Lore. Unless you get this game for $5, not really worth it. 3 out of 10 would not play again.
Definitely a fun time. I'm assuming no one who's looking at this and thinking of buying it hasn't played the first, so I'll state everything accordingly. First of all, it's basically the first game, but a bit smoother with the controls. Then again, I haven't played the first in a little while, so maybe that's just memory messing with me. For the most part, though, I can definitely see how it originally started as something they wanted to add to the first. It says a lot that my only complaint is story-related and I'm not calling it a spoiler because it happens literally before you even take control of your character, but maybe following THAT close to a meteor to disguise your landing was, in retrospect, a phenomenally stupid idea. Just sayin'. Anyway, it's a pretty fun time. The world is definitely smaller, but not so much that it's gonna feel like you've actually explored every inch. Unless that's your idea of a good time, I suppose. Even right before the end I was feeling like I was still happening across locations that I hadn't seen before. The addition of a lot of land activity definitely switched things up, and control-wise that's the only spot where it really faltered. Yeah, there was some land traversal in the first one too, but the controls really aren't optimized for that kind of thing. You'd be getting stuck on apparently nothing, having to jump, and if you do it out of frustration at the wrong moment, enjoy falling to your death. Which is apparently about 10 feet. Similarly it's pretty slippery, or maybe that's you catching on one of those invisible edges and gliding along it, I didn't actively try to find out. All in all, just keep notes on where you're focusing on, if you're like me (because otherwise you'll end up finding a part of some upgrade and going hunting for that, and then forgetting what you were originally doing, and there's no real indicator what it might've been) and you'll be fine. I wouldn't call it a 10 out of 10, but on a fair "5 is legitimately the middle of the road" scale, it's a solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10 from me. Fun, engaging, even exhilarating at times - and pretty much bite-sized, really. A good week of dedicated play (and that's including having a job IRL) will get you through, maybe 2 if you're adventurous, but all in all a good time.
This game is great! Worth every penny. PS, I found a way to avoid taking damage from creatures if you have a Sea Truck and any module. You see, they didn't make an animation for getting attacked in your Sea Truck while you are standing up, so you won't take damage from anything if you stand up just before something is about to attack you. Hear a leviathan coming? Just stand up inside your Sea Truck. As long as you aren't piloting it, they cannot attack you.
This game is very good but the leviathans are less scary but still a good game (Dont reccomend this to someone who has thalassophobia :))
