Stygian: Outer Gods.... where to even start. I'm a big Lovecraftian horror fan, especially in RPGs, however Stygian: Outer Gods.... just isn't it. The only thing it has going for it, is the horror elements and the story to a certain degree. As many before have said, the performance is terrible. I originally tried playing this game a year ago on an older PC and was unable to get past the first area without my PC heating up to an unreasonable degree. Luckily I was recently fortunate enough to get a newer PC that can actually run this game. However, to my dismay the gameplay isn't much better. The combat isn't really satisfying. Better than some other Lovecraftian game's combat (looking at you The Sinking City). But I digress, it is a horror game after all, I didn't enter this game to fight all the beings beyond my comprehension with my trusty sledgehammer. What really made me write this negative review would be the entire lack of direction you tend to find yourself in. I'd say at least a quarter of my time in this game was spent running around aimlessly not knowing where to go or where a certain key item could be found. Especially in the most recent content where I'd say I was lost for a majority of. Overall a 6/10 from me. I wouldn't recommend unless you really like Lovecraftian horror.

Надо еще умудриться ее запустить. Даже на самой простой сложности играть безумно трудно. Игра лагает на средней граффике а на низкой выглядит шакально и также лагает.

Игра и в прям хороша!, Но локализация на данный момент машинная и не все тексты локализованы, суть сюжета скомкивается из за кривого местами перевода, + страдает оптимизация, на 3-ку пока. В особняке трупаки вылезали из пола или спускались с потолка как на лифте смешили))) Но интригует, играть интересно не смотря на определенные минусы! Жду продолжения с нетерпением!

First hour in and I gotta say...wow. Haven't played a game this bad in a while. Gotta "perfect play" or you're sent back to the start when you die. Don't die? How?! Why is it when I'm standing in front of a mob and swing, I don't hit them...then they swing and hits every time? I can even be out of range and I get hit. Timing? Forget it, not gonna save you. If you like doing things over and over until you memorize every aspect of an area until the next save? Then this game is perfect for you! And talk about a harsh start, no heals to speak of and you're instantly struggling to do anything before even getting on your feet. For me? Pure irritation....
Terrible combat. Enemies just spam attacks until your stamina is drained, there's no interrupt, no dodge. You just back up slowly while blocking and watching your stamina go down until you are taking damage, and the enemies just go and go. They appear to have no stamina or limitations of any kind.
The game has potential, and I like the setting, too. However, the performance and image quality are absolutely terrible. My hardware is more than capable of handling the game (R7 7800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, and 32 GB of 6000 MHz DDR5 RAM), so this definitely needs to be improved. Frame rates fluctuate wildly, causing stuttering, and the shadows and reflections flicker constantly. It completely ruins the gaming experience. I really hope there are improvements on the way; until then, it's a thumbs down from me.
