Reviews
Streets of Rage 4 feels like a game that relies heavily on nostalgia rather than innovation. It’s essentially the same formula that started with the original Streets of Rage on the Sega Mega Drive. While that classic beat ’em up style can still be fun in short bursts, the game doesn’t do much to evolve the concept. They added more characters and updated the visuals, but the gameplay philosophy is almost identical to the first game from decades ago. The DLC instead of meaningful new content, feels like a rather shameless attempt to squeeze extra money out of players with content that doesn’t add much value to the experience. The biggest issue, however, is the replayability. The game becomes boring very quickly, as you’re essentially repeating the same type of levels and combat scenarios over and over again. For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly great game with friends simple and tons of fun. Definitely a must have on sale
If you are game literate enough to pick up a random game and be able to play it (so you don't get stuck on getting used to basic controls) you should play this on minimum hard or hardest. Even if you suck. Cause the fun of this game really comes across if you get in the groove of respecting it and learning it intricately. Beautiful game. Broadened my horizon.
Streets of Rage 4 is such a perfect follow-up to the classic games I played in my youth. I remember playing SoR 2 for hours with my friends growing up and I was a little nervous when I heard the SoR 4 announcement as not all reboots of a series go well. Dotemu, Guard Crush, Lizardcube absolutely crushed it with this one. I've spent about 80 hours total across two different platforms, both here and on PS5. I don't usually hunt all of the achievements in games, but this one got me hooked and there are so many modes and setups to learn and master without things feeling repetitive. I'm still learning and finding new ways to approach the different challenges. What's so fun about Streets of Rage 4 is the fact that you can button mash your way through so many of the fights if you're just casually having fun with friends and family. Then if you want to go deeper you can get immersed in the game's many combat mechanics and systems, learning new tricks and ways to approach each different situation. That's a hard balance to strike. Highly recommended for anyone who has fond nostalgia memories of the first three SoR games, or for anyone who is a fan of beat-em-ups in general. The art style, killer soundtrack, and accessible but deep combat systems are a joy to unpack. This is a game I'll be coming back to for years.
