About

In a modern fantasy world, college dropout Grace is granted the power of a Muse - power she’ll need to find out the truth behind her predecessor’s death before time runs out. You’ll decide who Grace allies with, who she can trust, and who may betray her in this beautifully hand-illustrated roleplaying musical.
Written by David Gaider comes Stray Gods - an urban fantasy tale of finding your place, taking charge of your fate, and discovering answers. Your choices will change the endings, as well as the path you take to get there.
A compelling story of hope, self-discovery, and forging your path.
Adventure, love, and songs await!
Charm, negotiate, or strong-arm your way through their world as Grace, playing through original, fully interactive musical numbers composed by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, Tripod (musicians Scott Edgar, Steven Gates, and Simon Hall) and Eurovision Australia’s own Montaigne (Jess Cerro). Fully orchestrated and performed by an all-star cast, you’ll feel as though you’re right there on the stage. With thousands of potential variations based on your choices, you’ll craft the soundtrack to your own one of a kind musical experience.
Choice and consequence built from the DNA of RPGs - no two playthroughs are the same.
Delve into a hidden world of mythic Greek gods and monsters as you get to know a cast of hilarious, enigmatic, and compelling characters. Forget what you know about these mythological beings - in Stray Gods you’ll forge friendships and find foes with many familiar names, but not so familiar stories. Play as star and stagehand as you determine the story you want to tell through conversation and song.
Find friendship, love, or yourself.
Build friendships with mortals and Gods alike. Stoke the fires of romance if you so choose - explore, pursue, and confess your love with four potential paramours. Decide who you want to be through every choice. David Gaider’s storytelling and characters come to life with performances by an all-star cast, with the likes of Laura Bailey, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and more cast members across video games, television, and Broadway.
A musical for video game lovers, and a video game for musical lovers.
With all the comedy and tragedy of your favorite stage shows, Stray Gods is a tongue-in-cheek and heartfelt reconception of Greek mythology combining what we love about contemporary musical theater with video games where character and story take center stage. Collaborating with some of the best in music, broadway, television, and games - Stray Gods is a debut not to be missed.

Genuinely gorgeous game, you can tell the developers behind it were really passionate about this project and wanted to create something that felt genuine, in a red sea of "dating sims" and narrative games, Stray Gods really stands out as a burst of creativity!
I found the story of this game really beautiful (i cried at five different events in a ten hour playthrough so do with that what you will). I have a soft spot in my heart for the greek myths and legends as I grew up on the Percy Jackson as many people did. If you like musicals and roleplaying games and conflict/combat that does not need good aiming skills, much like myself as I am not very coordinated/have RSI in my hands and wrists then this is also good for those reasons!

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Meh. Most songs are average with only a few moments that were good, and maybe one song that stucked in my head for more than 30 seconds. Fortunately, no bad song. Weirdly, you'd expect a great song in the first hour to capture the player interest, but no. I almost refunded but the story was intriguing so I stucked. Speaking of, the story is pretty good throughout, I wanted to see where it would end up and how it would go there. Contrary to what could be thought looking at one of the trailers, there's no animations at all, only static screens and characters with a few poses (visual novel style, and this game is way more a visual novel than an RPG by the way, whatever the subtitle pretends). Visuals are nice and stylish, but quite often not consistent with the song. For example, in the very first song, the voice is soft, but the character is drawn in a powerful stance as if projecting/belting. This happens several times and the disconnect is sometimes jarring. The "interactive song" aspect is a novelty. All in all an average game, which dares to try something different with its "interactive songs", but fails short. Still, it was enjoyable while it lasted, and it has the merit of not overstaying its welcome. For a good "musical RPG", go play People Of Note, which has actually good songs (including the first one that slaps right away), is an actual (J)RPG, and is actually good. I don't recommend Stray Gods, but if you want to play a different kind of visual novel, have a craving for another musical game, or are intrigued by the premise, Stray Gods is ok.
Genuinely one of the best versions of the greek gods in musical form. I liked Epic the Musical, but THIS is the og for me. I will forever prefer THIS story telling over epic the musical. I love LOVE how they showed them. As someone who does research on greek gods, and other gods, this is beautifully written and more people should play.
I haven’t been so shaken up by a story since the gun devil arc in chainsawman. 10/10
I enjoyed the story, the art, the music, the characters, and the events. I think the musical element in going to personal to each player - but for me I thought it worked. I found the mystery compelling, and the reveals interesting. There are decisions to make that feel impactful. Overall I really enjoyed it. An online review I saw mentioned it was about 6 hours long. It felt fair for the money to me.
A brilliant blend of interactive fiction and a musical.
Deeply underwhelming. I didn't realize how un-animated the game would be, especially given that the trailers portray almost all clips where the characters are animated. The songs themselves are also deeply underwhelming and it all feels somehow unfinished. I was really excited for this game and it just wasn't what I'd hoped for.
