Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 30 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Strange Seed is a creature evolution game inspired by games like E.V.O.: Search for Eden and Spore’s creature stage. You begin as a humble blob: the “strange seed” that fell from a very unusual tree. While many blobs exist, you’re not quite like the others.

Defeat creatures to collect their DNA and unlock new body parts. Reshape yourself and experiment with combinations to build the ultimate form. But remember that balance is key: a strong torso and powerful head might win fights, but what good is strength if you can’t catch your prey? With 7 part slots and over 40 creatures to discover, you’ll have over 10 million possible combinations to play with.

Venture through 10+ unique biomes, from lush forests and sandy beaches to cityscapes and even the heart of a volcano. Each environment brings its own challenges. Too big for a narrow path? Evolve into something smaller. Stuck at a platform you can’t reach? Grow wings and take to the air. The world is full of secrets; can you uncover them all?

Don’t let the colorful world fool you - Strange Seed is full of danger. Creatures range from simple lizards to ferocious, Soulslike bosses. And victory isn’t just about reflexes: the right combination of parts could be the difference between survival and defeat. If you’re clever enough, you might even find ways to cheese your way to victory!

A lot of the fun comes from combining funky parts to solve puzzles. You get a great deal for $15
Fun creature "collector" and creature builder. I made the good decision to hold off on part combinations until the end game (last boss fight at The Crucible), and recommend others to do the same. Arguably you should probably not even use the part combinations until you defeat the last boss because I had enough strange fluid and crystals to buy more to have a completely combined and optimized battle beast which destroyed the last boss in less than a minute and easily took no damage. I'll probably make a less optimized creature from normal parts in order to experience the last boss more genuinely at some point. The game has a great formula and gameplay loop that is highly enjoyable. My only complaint is that I wish there was more content. Much more content. Hopefully we can get more content releases. Would especially love to see more races especially relying on flying forms. Maybe there could even be some kind of side challenge content for our supreme combined forms to get a real test. Combat, races, obstacle courses, map explorations, and so on. Maybe... users could create their own content for other users to play with. Would provide endless fun and content. Always sad to reach the end of a highly enjoyable game, but it's great when the biggest complaint is that I wanted more from it.

Good game that deserves more attention. Sort of like Spore thematically, but more like a soulslike kinda thing with areas, combat, exploration, bosses, progression, and a bit of not-too-tricky puzzle stuff.
The kind of stupid fun I love
So far, the game's super fun. I like it. Cute little indie game
I've recently been playing through both Voidling Bound and this game, and although Strange Seed is not as graphically impressive, the game is a real gem. Truly. I will go ahead and tell you, this is a pretty short game, but it also tracks your time in the background, which means if you're into speedrunning, this game has some replay value when it comes to that. Eventually you will hit the current end of the game, but I am hoping this developer keeps adding more to the game like the ocean expansion we just got. But despite its brevity and small scale, this game has a ton of charm to it. You get to build extremely goofy-looking critters and run around in locations which might remind you of maps from an N64 game, building your critter up to the point of being able to do ridiculous things by killing and digesting the parts of other critters, and overall the game is incredibly rompy and very enjoyable. Bosses present reasonable challenges, but you can overcome them either by skill or by upgrading your creatures, and later on you get access to fusing parts together to combine stats. However, the game does not let you merge two body parts that grant skills, so you've got to make choices about what kinds of skills you want your critters to maintain. Despite having a pretty limited number of statistics you've got to keep track of, the game has a surprising amount of depth to the way things like Jump / Weight / Speed / Stamina affect things, and it's very fun to optimize your critters for what you need somewhat on-the-fly. Combat is simple but requires careful attention paid to timing and directional facings, but after a little bit of practice you'll get the hang of it. And in some cases, it can almost feel turn-based. There's also a fair amount of stuff done through menus, and while a lot of people compare this game to Spore, it really has its genesis in a game like EVO: The Search for Eden for SNES. I actually like this game so much I wrote a guide for it, and if you're into collect-a-thon style platformers with music that feels very close to Banjo-Kazooie's instrument set, you're gonna have a great time. If you're thinking of snubbing this title in favor of a better-looking one, know that you are overlooking a fantastic game. Like I said, I'm playing another AAA-style game made with Unreal that's a creature collector, and this game still holds up against that.
