Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Stories: The Path of Destinies is an action RPG set in a vibrant fairytale universe filled with floating islands, majestic airships, and colorful magic. Reynardo, an ex-pirate and unintentional hero, suddenly becomes the last line of defense against the mad Emperor and his countless ravens. Can he come up with a plan that won’t blow up in his face, for a change?
In Stories, each choice you make takes Reynardo into a unique narrative. From tongue-in-cheek takes on heroic adventures to dark, Lovecraftian scenes, Stories’ repertoire is as diverse as it is action-packed. But Reynardo’s fateful decisions won’t always come easy: Sometimes retrieving a weapon lost at the beginning of time means sacrificing the life of an old friend. But with so many choices to make and so many potential dire destinies, wouldn't it be great to come back in time, learn from your mistakes, and find the one true path?

Unique choice-based narrative in which players explore many different storylines to find the path to victory
Fluid and fast-paced combat blending acrobatic swordplay, grab attacks, special abilities, and more
Charming hand-drawn illustrations and a colorful storybook aesthetic
A deep skill tree where players can unlock powerful new abilities such as the Hookshot or even Time Mastery

Reviews
For an old game it's really nice you know. The way the game handle the story is really fun and choices you made really tell what kind of person you are. The story can be hard to understand at first but it will come together. The combat is really fun once you get used to it. It's not the usual hack and slash game where you can spam the attack buttoon, this one you have to strategize your next move for every action. It's really fun, it's like playing a real time strategy but you are doing the actions instead of giving out commands to troops. The characters design and personalities are good and memorable. The graphic is obviously old but it's alright. Overall, it's a fun unique hack and slash game. Pick it up if you want to try something new and experience fresh story every run.
Weird to see this getting a sequel
I’ve been holding onto this title for quite some time, one of those games gifted by a friend that ended up in my ever-growing Steam backlog. I never really felt compelled to sit down and play it, but I finally gave it a chance after seeing the random trailer for its sequel. I found myself (and apparently many others) wondering: what was so great about this game that it deserved a sequel, especially when something like Omensight did so much better, even if both games were still heavily niche and under performed?
Issues
Still showcased some minor bugs, after all these years, nothing too game breaking though, compared to Omensight. While I understand the voice actor may have been a novice at this point in their career, the inconsistent cadence and lack of distinct character voices really took me out of the experience. The performance felt low-effort and aggressively average, so much so that I doubt even kids would be entertained by it. A shame. He does improve in the sequel’s demo, but that introduces another issue: the original game is extremely short, decently designed, and very casual. It took me just under two hours to beat it, finishing four separate runs to see the main ending. Yet, despite boasting over 20 endings and alternative combinations, only this one mattered, the rest are just minor variations. Each run boiled down to two or three minutes of fighting followed by more mediocre voice acting, story progression and then the book flipping through it's pages. Ultimately, choices don’t matter much and everything moves along quickly. It’s fine as a simple, casual title that doesn't take much of your time or interaction, but not much more than that.
Conclusion
The game was alright. That's about it. The sequel on the other hand, is quite awful in its current state. There’s was a massive deterioration in visual art quality, character models, weapons, and combat mechanics, like babies first 3D leap. The overall experience feels like a step back rather than an improvement, making it a disappointing follow-up to the original.
