전작이 별로라 긴가민가 했는데, 정말로 전작의 불호 요인이 대부분 개선된 게임이었다. 새로운 어빌리티들과 깔끔한 레벨 디자인, 개선된 편의성 덕에 맵 곳곳을 탐색하고 비밀을 발견하는 재미가 훨씬 올라갔다. 대부분 선형 진행에 가까운 건 전작과 다르지 않았지만, 한결 풍부해진 등장인물과 스토리, 더 많은 지역, 유기적인 맵 연결, 다양한 세팅 요소 덕분에 게임 플레이도 다채로워졌다. 여러모로 선명성이 올라간 느낌. 플레이어가 노력한 만큼 결과가 돌아오는 방식으로 레벨 디자인이 되어 있어서 좋았다. 무엇보다 수집요소를 놓치거나 영원히 잃어버릴 위험이 줄어든 게 마음에 들었음. 반면에 여전히 때때로 루즈하고 답답한 탐색, 랭킹 시스템, [spoiler]찝찝한 결말[/spoiler] 등은 아쉬움으로 남았다. 도전과제를 중요시하는 사람이라면 다회차 플레이를 사실상 강제하는 고난도 도전과제들도 불호 요소가 될 수 있을 듯. 그래도 싼 할인가에 비해 높은 완성도의 게임이었다. 추천.

Beat the main story in about 9 hours. Super fun and has some Metroidvania aspects to it. Would buy and play SteamWorld Dig 3!
Lo jugué en la ASUS ROG Ally con control de Xbox, tanto en portátil como conectado a monitor, y corre perfecto desde 10W, sin problemas de rendimiento. Es un juego diferente, pero muy divertido. La idea de ir excavando, explorando y mejorando tus herramientas hace que siempre tengas ganas de seguir avanzando un poco más. Poco a poco el mapa se va expandiendo y vas descubriendo nuevas habilidades que cambian la forma en la que exploras. La historia también me gustó más de lo que esperaba, sencilla pero bien llevada. Visualmente tiene mucho encanto con su estilo steampunk y personajes carismáticos. Es de esos juegos que empiezas pensando “jugaré un rato”… y cuando te das cuenta llevas horas cavando túneles como si fueras un topo profesional. Si te gustan los juegos de exploración tipo metroidvania pero con mecánicas diferentes, es una muy buena opción.

Just keep digging. You play as Dorothy. She used to buy ore in the first game. Now, she's the protagonist. If you played 1, then 2 improves upon everything. * Controller recommended. * You get a cool powerup that turns you into Spider-Man! * Waypoints! You can teleport to any of them. * Easier to make money. * Perks! Use gears to activate them. * Mining ore are a one time thing, but enemies drop ore as well. * Story is better than the first game. There are some question you might ask yourself at the ending. The only negative: - Game was already over before I knew it. --- Windows 11 Sound Issue: If you are reading this review and are playing SteamWorld Dig 2, then you realized that digging produces low sound. Try the following: 1. Go to your Windows Volume Icon. 2. Right-click it. Open Sound Settings. 3. Select your appropriate Output for sound. 4. Advanced settings -> Audio enhancements -> Change "Device Default Effects" to "Off" 5. Restart game. Sound should work normally. Just switch it back once you're done. I don't have an answer as to why it muffles the pickaxe sound. --- Score: 10 out of 10. Recommended! I could score it half a point lower because of realizing the game was already done, but the game was too addicting to play. Buy it on sale. It's worth. There needs to be SteamWorld Dig 3, so we can get even more lore and exploration.
