Starstruck: Hands of Time

i've never seen a game that hates the moon so much. the only thing on the moon is fascism. don't go to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moon. starstruck is a media studies type of game. it's experimental, it's playful, it has something to say, and it has a trust in the player to keep up when it complicates things. i didn't really like playing it, perhaps because it trusted me a little too much and i didn't hold up my end. i think there's a lot i didn't crack into with a surface-level unfocused playthrough, and because of that my thoughts didn't get a lot further than the buttons i was pressing. makes me want to start a book club for interesting and complicated games. not a lot of games have the thematic depth, or even the appearance of it, to make me want someone else to help me dig into it. i hope this team is able to make more some day.

리듬게임이라기보다는 스토리게임으로서의 완성도가 정말 좋은 게임. 상호작용을 많이 한다면 대충 우주선에 있는 애의 정체도 유추하기 쉽고 개인적으로 시점을 이용한 연출이 정말 좋았음. 후반부는 아예 영화 보는 느낌이였음 정말 좋았음. 영화 같은 게임. 근데 다만 아쉬운건 우주선에 있는 주인공에 대한 정보-에드윈에 대한 정보가 부족하다는 것? 난 아직도 미래 친구가 정확히 누구인지 모르겠음 그리고 왜 에드윈만 관찰대상이라는 이름이 붙여졌는지, 왜 나는 묶여있는지, 왜 저 AI는 마을 복구한다했으면서 왜 완전히 복구를 안하는지, 저 AI가 정말 나를 따르는지조차 의심스러운 상황..에서 클라이맥스로 진입할때 메인이 던이 되버려서 에드윈이 좀 지워진 느낌... 빌드업에는 에드윈이 스토리에서 더 비중이 컸던 느낌인데 마무리는 던으로 마무리하니까 메세지 전달에는 좋긴했는데 전체적인 구조로 보자면 마무리에 좀 더 에드윈의 관점에서 이야기를 더 많이 보여줬으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었음 또는 우주선에 있는 주인공 관점으로나. 그래도 여전히 스토리 측면에선 정말 뛰어난 게임임 초반은 살짝 유치하지만 후반은 정말 감명 깊게 봤음. 정말 추천함.
