Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

erk no. Empty world walking simulator. low amounts of sparse resources and tedious backtracking.
A beautiful and challenging survival game with stunning desert landscapes, deep crafting system, and engaging exploration that keeps players hooked for hours.

Starsand is the perfect escape for anyone craving a chill survival experience with just the right touch of gentle challenge—without the overwhelming stress or constant pressure that defines many other games in the genre. Set in a vast, mystical desert under twin moons, the game drops you into an otherworldly open world full of dunes, ancient mysteries, and subtle dangers. The survival loop—exploring, gathering resources, crafting tools and shelter, hunting for food, and managing heat and thirst—feels meditative rather than frantic. You can tweak the difficulty to suit your mood: dial it down for a relaxed, almost contemplative playthrough focused on exploration and base-building, or keep a soft edge with occasional threats that nudge you forward without ever feeling punished. So in short i say give it a shot. Even better if you get it on a sale! ;) ALCURA~
Starsand offers a distinctive take on open-world survival by replacing the forests, frozen wilderness, and tropical islands commonly associated with the genre with an enormous and unforgiving desert. Developed by Tunnel Vision Studio and published by Toplitz Productions, the game immediately establishes survival as a struggle against the environment itself. Water is precious, shade can determine whether an expedition succeeds, and the dramatic temperature changes between day and night encourage careful preparation. What initially resembles a straightforward story about becoming stranded gradually develops into something much stranger, giving the adventure a science-fiction mystery that helps distinguish it from more conventional survival sandboxes. The story begins after a devastating sandstorm leaves the protagonist isolated in a seemingly endless wasteland. Finding civilization and simply staying alive become immediate priorities, but unusual discoveries quickly suggest that this is no ordinary desert. The sight of two moons is one of the clearest indications that something extraordinary has happened. From there, abandoned structures, ancient monuments, artifacts, mysterious ruins, and other environmental clues provide reasons to continue exploring. The narrative generally remains secondary to survival, yet it gives long journeys a purpose beyond collecting another batch of crafting materials. Resource management is at the center of the experience. Hunger and thirst need attention, while stamina and body temperature influence how safely the player can travel. The extreme daytime heat makes water and protection from the sun essential, whereas nighttime introduces dangerously colder conditions. This temperature contrast creates a meaningful daily rhythm. Heading into unexplored territory without adequate supplies can become disastrous, particularly when the next oasis or shelter is farther away than expected. The result is a survival system where preparation often matters more than simply reacting quickly once trouble begins. Exploration takes place across a very large desert measuring more than 64 square kilometers. The sheer scale effectively communicates isolation, and distant landmarks become valuable navigation tools when most of the horizon consists of sand. The size also creates one of the game's weaknesses. Traveling through large stretches of desert can become slow or repetitive, particularly after the initial novelty of the landscape fades. However, discovering an oasis, ruin, monument, or unusual structure after a difficult journey can feel appropriately rewarding because reaching these locations requires genuine effort. Crafting and building gradually reduce the player's vulnerability. Materials gathered throughout the world can be converted into survival equipment, tools, weapons, and construction components. Establishing a dependable shelter becomes an important milestone because a base provides security, storage, and a place to prepare for longer expeditions. Progression feels satisfying when the character moves from desperately searching for basic necessities to maintaining a reasonably organized network of resources and equipment. The construction system complements the survival mechanics well because building is connected directly to staying alive rather than existing purely for decoration. The desert is also populated by dangerous creatures, including hostile insect-like enemies that turn exploration into more than a battle against thirst and temperature. Weapons and defensive options become increasingly important as the player encounters these threats. Combat is functional and provides welcome tension, although it is less refined than the game's environmental survival systems. Some encounters can feel mechanically straightforward, but the possibility of being attacked while already dealing with limited supplies or harsh weather makes them considerably more threatening. Creative equipment, including unusual improvised explosives, adds some personality to the otherwise serious struggle for survival. Weather contributes heavily to the atmosphere. Sandstorms can dramatically reduce visibility, turning a recognizable route into a disorienting expanse within moments. Combined with the day-night cycle and temperature system, these conditions make the same area feel substantially different depending on when and how it is crossed. This unpredictability strengthens the importance of navigation and preparation. The most memorable situations often emerge naturally when an expedition that seemed manageable deteriorates because of poor visibility, dwindling water, darkness, or an unexpected enemy encounter. The science-fiction elements are what ultimately give Starsand its strongest identity. Ancient structures and unexplained artifacts gradually suggest a deeper history behind the world, while puzzles and discoveries encourage players to investigate rather than merely establish a comfortable base and remain there indefinitely. The mystery provides a useful sense of progression because surviving another day is only part of the objective. Understanding the environment and discovering a possible path home become equally important motivations. Presentation is strongest when emphasizing loneliness and scale. Sweeping dunes, distant structures, dramatic skies, ruins, oases, storms, and nighttime scenery can create striking moments despite the intentionally sparse setting. That sparseness is simultaneously an atmospheric strength and a pacing weakness. Players who appreciate deliberate exploration may enjoy the sense of distance, while those expecting frequent encounters and densely populated locations could find traversal overly quiet. Steam Deck compatibility is a notable advantage. The game is officially Steam Deck Verified, with its core functionality working through the handheld's controls and its interface remaining usable on the smaller display. Controller prompts and general navigation are appropriately supported, while the game can run using settings suitable for the device. Its viewpoint and methodical pacing also translate naturally to portable play, although demanding visual settings can still make sensible performance adjustments worthwhile for players prioritizing battery life or consistent performance. Overall, Starsand succeeds by making its desert more than a visual backdrop. Heat, cold, thirst, storms, navigation, crafting, construction, hostile creatures, ruins, and the underlying mystery all contribute to the feeling of being genuinely stranded somewhere unfamiliar. Combat and long-distance traversal can be rough around the edges, and the sparse landscape will not suit players seeking constant action. Nevertheless, its combination of methodical survival and gradually unfolding science fiction gives it enough personality to stand apart. For players who enjoy careful resource management, solitary exploration, base building, environmental challenges, and uncovering secrets at their own pace, it provides a demanding but rewarding journey across the dunes.
