About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

Wow. This is a fun game! But it might not be for you. - It has lot's of elements that most modern mmo's no longer has (Yay!) - It's a sandbox, not a themepark experience - Early access is indeed early. If you want the themepark experience of WoW with quests and leveling a predefined class, this may not be for you. If you want a polished AAA title, then this is too early. If you have the attention-span of the average 10 yo Roblox player, this is probably not for you either. But if you miss how games used to be skill-related, where you get better at the skills you actually use, when you use them. And you miss how games used to have depth and complexity where you get to learn things to an extent. And you appreciate crafting systems that aren't overly simplified (but you aren't a masochist so you won't go Pax Dei or Eve Online). Then this might very well be for you. Imagine Runescape in a 3D sci fi setting. Or No Mans Sky, but not deserted, where you meet lots of actual people. Yes, early access is earlier than it should be. There are only 4 planets in the game, no space ships yet and some issues around loading times and lag. But the underlying systems are there, interconnected with eachother and working. I'd wish we had more polish and a UX and soundscape more similar to Entroipa Universe or Eve Online. But there is much to see, do and learn, and I look forward to seeing the game grow and develop further. I'll be playing this alot.

Perfect example of why steam needs to place a limit on what games categorized as EA are allowed to charge. This is barely an Alpha state.
Oh yeah, this is the good stuff. It's alpha for sure, but it's got the bones of a great sandbox MMO. Can't wait to see how development continues! Buy if: You want to support the developers, and/or you want to help test and provide feedback on a game in alpha. Don't buy if: you have low tolerance for jank. Just wait. It'll be f2p when it releases to 1.0 anyway.
Potential to be a good game in about 5 years, probably be playable in 2, at this moment in time its not even playable more of a tech demo than an early access ''GAME'', ill keep an eye on it, hopefully see you in a few years, until then nope
Made itself out to be competition of the likes of no mans sky or similar. at least thats the impression i got while i never got accepted for any playtesting. that it is not. alas, i discovered this only after i spent money on the early access. it is not an open universe. the planets arent planets, merely spaces that you teleport to. very limited in size at that. it plays like some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game a kid made in roblox. shame because i was really looking forward to this.
This game has the most in depth crafting I've seen since it's spiritual precursor Star Wars Galaxies. This mmo isn't like most others and it takes a while to wrap your head around it, but once things click they really click. The game has plenty to do for crafters and explorers at the moment, and the mining is my favorite mining I can remember in a game. The physics simulations are really cool, too. I'd say the combat needs work though, and if you want to do more than hunting wildlife, you may be disappointed. Very excited to see what the future of this game holds. If you don't understand the crafting, I recommend looking up SWG crafting tutorials, things work very much the same in this game. I haven't had many performance issues, but I do have a fairly powerful setup.
I have been following and I helped test Stars Reach in the past. I got the $79.95 bundle because believe in the team and want them to do well.. This being said. I do not think this game is ready for early access. The characters are odd looking and stiff to move. The player character needs to be polished number 1. They are not. I do not like controlling my character. They have artistic text on backgrounds that are so close in color and black pint that it is difficult to read. Why? Why did they choose this? The map is not a map. it looks like an after thought. I thin this project suffers from big ideas from people who do not have the skills to pull it off. I do not think this game will ever be what we were all hoping and told it would be. I am not asking for a refund because these guys and girls worked hard on the game. I still would like to just say thank you for trying. Next time pick something in your lane and just make it fun. You do not have to build a bigger better game for us to back you and love what you created. Keep trying. You have good ideas. I do not recommend anybody who is short on cash and choosing between games to get this one. Maybe in another 3 to 5 years. With great sadness. Good hunting.
I don't often leave reviews based on what's to come, in fact, I've never done so before. This game is developed by the lead dev for UO and SWG. UO being my fav game, I really wanted to see where this game is going and give it a chance. Bottom line: Its in EA, and see I realize people think EA should be a completely finished product, and this isn't. HOWEVER, the scope of this game and where the devs want to take this is truly amazing. I dare to even say, this could release UO as my fav game of all time. Here me out. this is a truly player driven market. Items you use need to be repaired, as you improve in tiers with your items/tools/weapons, they are more effective. Just the skill tree alone is amazing to look at, I didn't count but there are tons and tons and TONS of skills that players will be able to select to build out their char how they see fit. And since everything is player driven, there is always a need for ... a farmer... a gatherer, a specific crafter type, etc. You literally get to shape the planet, you can mine deep holes looking for rare material, be careful though as you can go so deep without building structure support and the cave itself can fall it on you and kill you. lol. You will be able to learn alien languages, that can unlock secrets and rare items. You will then have to smuggle those items back to town to sell them. PVP - The devs have said that some planets will have less rules, perhaps a PvP guild takes over the gov of a planet and decides to make a massive black market trade hub, totally possible. Point is - This game has truly something for everyone. Crafting, Player Driven markets, its like a mix of Albion online, UO, SWG, EVE, and i'm sure I am missing a few others. Yes - it's in EA, and yes not everything is in game yet, but you can very clearly see the work in progress skill trees. As far as game play, I played for a number of hours and didn't have any issues with you know basic game play, fighting and loot mobs, completing starter quests, exploring, things like that. Players will even build towns, and set rules to there towns and planets.
