Captain your own space ship and roam the galaxy in 3D in this tactical space simulator with tons of RPG depth ! Space has never looked so inviting - but images can betray...It has been two years since the end of the second Gemini war, the situation in the wartorn system is further from resolution than ever.

I'm a huge Freelancer fan but this doesn't quite hit the mark. - Space is deathly quiet, no radio chatter etc. Personally I need that in a space game or it gets a little lonely. - Very minimal story, you'll often just turn up and do a mission without anybody saying a word. - Clunky controls, not awful but really nothing on how smooth Freelancer made everything I think if you can accept the limitations and enjoy what's there it's probably quite a lot of fun but it's a little on the soulless side for my tastes.
Tutorial involves a quick series of popups that throw all the information of the game at you at once as text with no try-it-out or revealing things over time. Information overload that prevents me from learning the game without bringing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ notebook.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For someone who has played games like Wing Commander, Privateer, Freelancer, and some of the X-series, this game has been quite an experience! Just finished this game 6/21/21, and enjoyed a great deal of it, with some moments of frustration. Since I'd not played SPG1, I started with the "Origins" dlc, did the main storyline, and finished with "Secrets" and "Titans" dlcs. If you like space sims with a third-person view, nice visuals, planets and stations you can dock and trade with, lots of various challenge-levels of combat, and a hefty amount of patience (the universe will be "out to get you" if you don't have the right ship and play very smart at times). There is a full-on free-roam mode for those not wanting a story, but I found the lightly narrative-driven campaign a good reason to upgrade ships, take on the various side missions, and thoroughly explore each map. There is a nice variety of side missions, and the ability to free-roam even within the story campaign. I spent over 200 hours on this game (though 407.4 is a little high, due to a few times I paused the game for fair periods of time). Overall, I would highly recommend this game if you like this kind of experience. I would advise, again, being very patient, mining quite a bit toward the beginning, and being willing to wait for the "right ship" to upgrade to for certain missions. It is very rewarding, and there is quite a lot here if you are willing to invest the time.

1/10
Do not buy this game. Its full of glitches and problems. Dev's have been aware of it since 2015 and done nothing. As it is right now, you cannot finish the game as the story requires you to kill a boss type ship that has not health. If you wish to buy it anyways, be aware that you will NOT be able to finish the story.

Pretty chill, relaxed game. Fun game to play while drinking some alcohol and chilling. I like it.
Maybe my expectations ruin the game before I even play it? Nah! This game had all the check marks for being an awesome game. I just don't know how they managed to wreck it. Well, I do, I'm just so sick of regurgitating the same ♥♥♥♥ for every crappy game. I should have listened to my inner critic which is affected by my trusty board of reviewers. Sorry I didn't listen to you guys this time! So many glitches that it's not glitches, it's a broken game they couldn't be bothered to fix. The "Go To" command is worse than useless. Click a place, click the "Go To" and sit back and watch as the AI turns in the general direction, you know cause you only need to eyeball it in space, and sets the engines to full, which if you need to go anywhere close will take you forever so plan a meal in between close locales, then watch as your ship plows through any and everything to get maybe near your destination only to keep going forever. It won't stop at your destination. It may explode into a fiery ball if the AI somehow managed to actually lock on to where you want to go. Otherwise have a nice trip into the bleak oblivion that is the void of space. I came back after nukin some leftover wings to find myself on the other side of the galaxy. The ship controls suck. It's a freaking game. Dev's shouldn't limit themselves to 1950's Flash Gordon idiot tech. Come up with some proper ♥♥♥♥ that allows one to control their ship. Does anyone that play games actually make them anymore!? Or is just a bunch of money hungry, greedy corporate bastards that are making this ♥♥♥♥!? Come up with some warp speed somewhere. The tutorial is crap. Too much obvious and useless info and nothing helpful to actually playing the game. I don't need info on what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trader is or what a mercenary is and how to use them. Seriously a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of useless information. WTF??? Nothing about the game is cohesive. There's no direction or support, nothing to make one feel immersed in any kind of reality. I felt only frustration and I didn't have any fun. I can't say enough about this bloody "Go To" button. You can click on it and each time it seems to turn about halfway to your destination. Click on it the first time, halfway, click on it again and another halfway closer. Anyone with a basic understanding of math will realize you will never get there, only close if you keep trying. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ part is when your ship turns and lines up with another random location and you think, "Oh, cool it worked, that's where I need to go. WRONG!!! You stupid idiot! Didn't I say it will never line up with where you want to go? That's just the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with you, just what every gamer wants. Right? Thought I would give it some more chances and it failed miserably. I went into a wormhole and now I'm stuck in an infinite loop of travelling back and forth between these two wormholes. These wormholes are vortexes that will suck you up and fling you (instantaneously, no. OMG longest friggin wormholes ever) across to where ever (♥♥♥♥♥♥ long loading screen with crappy effects). Then when you arrive get sucked back up and do it all over again and now decide to self mutilate, why not, better than this game. The interminable mini side quests have you forever running around. I've done about 50 sides of assassination, repair, escort, and smuggle and they seem to never end. Procedurally generated? Horror for the completionist. I have no idea what the main mission is or even the plot. I'm in space doing what again? The lock on feature apparently works ok but not really. The space bar toggles between mouse and button guidance. If you lock on to a locale and try to go there with mouse guidance on it won't work properly and you might not even know. The go to option should automatically turn off mouse guidance but it doesn't. There are numerous instances where this is a problem. Multiple windows open and mouse control for all depending on where the mouse is located. Now back to some more self torture with this game. The voice acting is atrocious and there is no option to skip cutscenes, you are forced to sit through these excruciatingly terrible conversations. Any parent that has read to their kids has better character voice acting. It sounds like they were too cheap to ask an uncle, sister, or cousin to help out on their little game. They got some cheap bot to do all the voices. No acting because there are no actors. The voices, there are 2, one voice bot for every non-accent voice and the same voice bot set to really bad accent (though to be fair maybe aliens have really bad human region accents). It's usually a conversation between one accent character and a non-accent character because you can't tell who's speaking when it's 2 non-accent voices speaking. The voices are the same. You don't know what the F U C K is being said or who is saying it and will simply turn the volume down when there is any talking whatsoever. And if these are actual people making these wordlike sounds, bravo to y.....♥♥♥♥ it there's no way these are people. Space is not flat. To make the star map flat is yet another mind bogglingly stupid idea. Nothing else in the game take away from the immersivity than the flat star map. Bubbles (spheres) you fools. Space is not 2 dimensional and that's the way they make it feel. The star chart should have been bubble levels with full 3D control and maneuverability. Galaxy or solar system or whatever is the biggest bubble and you can zoom into small bubble sections. That's another thing, WTF is this jumble of space objects? It's way too small to be a galaxy. It seems to be some kind of binary system but most of the planets are in the same orbit. I can't express enough how seriously flawed this game is with the start chart expressed in 2 dimensions. Worse than the "voice acting". Did I mention how bad the "voice acting" is? I almost want to recommend this game so others can experience how terrible and annoying the "voice acting" is in this steaming pile of a game. There are no units on speed or distance. Actually I don't remember any speed or velocity in this game. Distance is unitless. I'm 24000 away from them. WTF!? The scale is so messed up there is a massive disconnect where your brain is highly aware of the scale and distances but you're trying to make the game fun so you can still play it. Again, another instance where you would have to play it to feel how wrong it is. A star map fog of war !? Another WTF! This isn't the undiscovered frontier. The setting presupposes that this is a heavily charted and well known region of space. Just another element that makes no sense. Maybe they thought it would add some kind of depth to the game, which it sorely needs. Poor control of vehicles. Devs need to get their heads out of their asses. Buck Rogers style rocket ships. Very limited imagination. No reverse or strafing. Like a simple WWII fighter, fly straight, turn, slow down to make tighter turns. Frustrating and boring dog fights. The weapons as well suffer from this lack of imagination. Power energy consumption and accuracy all traded yet balanced depending on play preferences. Beam is more accurate with average energy consumption and less damage. Rail gun has more damage but is less accurate. All weapons do damage. Every weapon follows this formula but there's no innovation. No weapons with special characteristics such as time manipulation or DOTs effects or teleportation or anything that requires using ones imagination just a little! Terrible save system. Exit game should always have a check. You know, Are You Sure? Y/N. I already brainfarted that one once. The auto-save feature is situational not timed and I'm not sure of the specific situations. But if you like to play baked or just forget to save for whatever reason then this game will leave you angry. I lost hours of gameplay because I forgot to save when I last could because you can't save anywhere. I have to wrap this up cause it's all the spac
A very nice Space-combat and exploration game. Pros: - Good graphics - no Hollywood Blockbuster but still very pretty. - Nice music that fits well with the whole space and exploration theme. - Various ship types and many individual ships to choose from. - Lots of stuff to do beside the main mission. - Tactical space fights are well executed and fun. - Roaming around in space and doing side tasks that are not fighting is also quite enjoyable. - Faction system is well implemented, you always have some allies, neutrals and enemies which also influences the star chart to a certain degree. - Achivements are reasonable to get, actually my first game to reach 100%. Cons: - Story is a bit weak, mainly due to the aprupt ending. - Camera controls are a bit wonky, took me some time to find the right settings and get used to them. Definetly needs improvement imo. - Crashes from time to time, so make sure to save frequently. - AI (enemy as well as autopilot, etc) is flawed every now and then. - German syncronisation is ok, but there is room for improvement.
