Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.57/day in the week to Sep 12 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

While KOTOR won Game of the Year, KOTOR 2 provides far more role playing possibilities, makes player decisions more consequential, and contains a complex storyline that one can play as either Light or Dark without seeming like a cliche. The Dark Side option sometimes floats too closely to being utterly childish, but its storyline, crafting system, use of skills, and greater dialogue make me wonder how a third installment (that wasn't a poor attempt at an MMPORG) never came about.
This game is more akin to wine snobbery than a great RPG. Everyone pretends to like it, hiding behind ambiguity and hoping no one calls it out. Ohh yes, this wine tastes of rich soil and tones of boot leather. No, you just wander around aimlessly for a literal 10 hours clicking everything in your path because if you dont you can miss a completely mundane object that will lock you out of progression. I gave it almost 50 hours. I tried, I really did, but it's nothing more than telling someone this wine is great because it tastes of boot leather and burnt toast. It's just that boot leather and burnt toast. Save your time and dont let people piss on your face and tell you it's raining. if its reminds you of your youth and better times, then I get it; however, this is by every metric a clunky, knuckle-dragging, painful-to-play RPG.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

kotor 1 was the first game i playes back when i was 5 years old. kotor 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and it holds extreme sentimental value to me.
Decent game, great story.
[First of all, play with the restored content mod or some equivalent mod collection, but you can skip most of the droid planet restored content, maybe even skip HK-47's factory thing. They aren't quite 'restored enough'/still missing content/polish, and don't really hold up to the vibe and standards of the rest of the game.] If you're going to play this game, do a blind playthrough of Kotor 1 as well, the story directly sets the stage for this one though isn't totally necessary to know, but you might as well. But, this one is superior to the first in every way. KOTOR 2 was made back in the era where Obsidian would take other developer's games and make sequels that were better than the originals, and this series predates yet set the stage for the entire Bioware be-good-or-evil cinematic dialog-choice Mass Effect/Dragon Age type of RPG, yet is rarely given credit for being successful enough to kickstart that entire genre of game. The gameplay is basically just Kotor 1's but more fleshed out, it's basically classic DnD with a weird timing/round system all happening in the background, it's good but nothing crazy. Lots of very varied and fun builds to try, game is extremely easy once you understand what to optimize, any combo of companions in your party can be a great time. This one and its predecessor were huge parts of my childhood on the Xbox, I've done playthroughs of it every which way at this point, and to this day Kotor 2 is the best written story/setting/set of characters of any Star Wars IP that I've ever come across. It's heavy and took many playthroughs and years of rumination to fully grasp the nuance of the themes, the entire plot, and how all the characters feed into the story. It's super Nietzsche and philosophical and bleak at times, for sure the most gray of any Star Wars game, which typically feature simplistic black-and-white morality. This one managed to have a classic Starwarsian light- and dark-side alignment system yet also constantly subverts and even outrightly to the player mocks and questions what such things even mean. Kreia is one of the most interesting, cerebrally-written, captivating, infuriating, terrifying, comforting, bewildering characters I've ever seen in any fiction. Focus on her, she is the main character of this work, not the player character. She's more the main character of the series than Revan is, in my opinion. She's just so humble about it. Playing Kotor 1 and 2 in order is the best way to learn about Revan. Kreia constantly showcases and teaches things about the Star Wars universe to a level of detail and reverence that many other SW IPs lack, understandings and juicy tid bits about the greater lore that apply when you enjoy other Star Wars IPs as well. This game also doesn't have that made-for-kids/family-friendly PG vibe that most of the SW IPs are riddled with. The KOTOR games ARE Star Wars to me, sparked more appreciation of the Star Wars universe and the Force and the lore than any other Star Wars stuff ever did. If Kotor1/2 didn't exist, I would have a completely different, more shallow and simplistic, more childish view of Star Wars in general. A high-budget properly-made faithful movie series adaptation of KOTOR 1 and 2 would be absolute peak Star Wars, better than all the movies and shows. I wish we got a KOTOR 3 before TOR hijacked the series's lore and started filling in a bunch of stuff that would have been so much better if these same writers did instead in the same vein as this game's storytelling. Even after all this time though, a direct sequel to this would still be appreciated if anybody wants to fund that. If you read this please recommend me any Star Wars books that you think were on par or better-written than this game was, I haven't delved into any of those books but would be willing if it's ever of this caliber.
Wow
De la philosophie Sith.
This game is great if you love the type of gameplay that involves maximizing character stats and making powerful builds. This game is also great if you like exploring well written characters and learning about their mysterious pasts. The ending is unfortunately disappointing because the game was rushed and unfinished, so consider a restored content mod. Amazing game, amazing sequel, disappointing ending, would recommend.
