Reviews
They ended support after less than a year so we're all screwed. Screw Paradox for treating its customers so poorly.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I wanted to love this game as a kind of Birth of the Federation modernised, but given how the devs abandoned it before the game even lasted a year... Nah, I can't recommend it. Sorry guys. No more bug fixes and the only things that are improved are done via mods. Nope. Paradox can fxxk off.
this is Stellaris with a Star Trek make over sadly, abandoned
Glad I refunded it when I did. I saw a bare bones attempt at mimicking Stellaris. As of March 27th 2024, The game was officially abandoned like a bloated dear carcass on the side of the road.
Lofty promises were made, but very little was delivered. Money was spent by Nimble Giant and Paradox on all the wrong things; the UI is beautifully designed for the most part, but actual gameplay is atrociously incomplete and extremely buggy. It seems that there will also be no revival from the modding community because the game is too hollow to build anything from it in its current state. Given a do-over I wouldn't get this game even if it were free, it's an annoying waste of space on one's computer.
TL;DR: The game has been abandoned while in a not quite finished state. "Not quite finished" means: The game works! There are no major bugs or main missing features. HOWEVER, balancing of factions and content (or the lack thereof) suggest there was a plan for more updates and DLCs which now will never happen. Without this, the 4 factions feel quite unbalanced which makes playing with friends... challenging. Two of the factions barely even have reasons to interact with the rest of the main powers. The lack of content, however, is the big issue. After playing one game I didn't have the stomach to go in for another one. It feels like playing a Stellaris mod. There is one way to play (for each faction), there is only one way how the game will go and there is just one end-game crisis. War only happens if players (or the AI!) gets bored since expansion is just more useful. It gets repetative soooo quickly. If this game was just the starting point for years of cool stuff to come I'd say: Go grab it! But as it stands, just don't.
This game is unfinished and will never be finished. Needs about 3 balance patches and 12 DLC to make it complete. Even then it is very boring and very slow. A slower and more boring version of Stellaris.
As a Star Trek fan, I was excited for this game. The potential for something akin to Birth of the Federation, but with a modern take on it in the vein of Stellaris. It was not that. It was a poorly done reskin of Stellaris. Two of the primary reasons I purchased this game are because it was Star Trek, and because it was published by Paradox. The level of disappointment I feel when I see this game in my library is palpable.
Schade.
