El juego, gráfica y estéticamente, es como la serie pero recreada en 3D. Es muy convincente y bonito. La jugabilidad es bastante simple, con apenas dos o tres habilidades además del salto, pero es un juego tranquilo y fácil de completar al 100 % y te da unas 10 horas de contenido. Más allá de eso, es solamente una versión con gráficos actualizados del juego de PS2, y se nota bastante. El diseño de niveles tiene decisiones un poco cuestionables, y no se suele explotar realmente todas las capacidades de los personajes, especialmente Bob Esponja; las hitboxes, ubicación, y movimientos de los enemigos son más desesperantes, a veces, de lo que deberían; te tienes que patear los niveles enteros muchas veces porque el juego quiere hacerte perder el tiempo en ello, entre otras cosas que, si bien son pequeños detalles, suman y hacen de la experiencia algo menos disfrutable de lo que podría ser. También, si bien el tono en general del juego no es desagradable, toma las partes más infantiles de la serie en lugar de incluir momentos más aberrantes o rebeldes, y se echan un poco en falta. De nuevo, es un juego sencillo y tranquilo, fácil, pero con algunas decisiones que en 2026 están obsoletas y podrían haber cambiado o mejorado para este remake, más bien remaster.
Pretty fun game, and the only Purple Lamp SpongeBob game I'd recommend. It's not a groundbreaking remake that does anything special, but the original game from 2003 was very fun, so this one is too. One thing the game is lacking is the ability to change keybindings, kind of unacceptable for a 2020 game. Overall I'd give this a 6.5/10, go play it once and have fun, then forget about it.
Great game if you're a fan of Spongebob, I've never played the original but I enjoyed this one, the Sand Mountain Snowman Spat was annoying but that's about it.

Gameplay and the story is great -Cons Lots of bugs but not game-breaking Cant change graphics quality on PC Port (Youd have to dig deep into your appdata folder just to adjust the settings for graphics) Repetitive and slow gameplay. Its great for casual playing when getting back from work/school. 7.8/10 game

While it has some little glitches and faults, this is a masterclass in how to take an old game and upscale it for the newer generations. One of my favorite classics that I played for hundreds of hours as a kid, Rehydrated is an almost perfect remake of the OG. I would be interested in seeing a remaster of the movie game as well, but chances are I'll be dipping my toes into the newer Spongebob games by this developer.
