SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom . A very bright, colorful, and amusing platformer. The game design is kinda old-fashioned. Cool music, sounds and visual effects. . Controls: RB - read the signs A - jump, we can double jump X - attack (bubble-spin) Y - jump higher with jellyfish (Bubble Bash attack) RT - show HUD B in mid-air - Bubble Bounce attack. . Mechanics and features: The menu shows zones we can travel in, and the progress of completing the zones. Collect shiny objects to gain access to a new zone. THE GAME SHOWS ALL MISSION LOCATIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MISSION. RT shows the number of Shiny Objects, Golden Spatulas, Patrick's Lost Socks and how many pairs of underwear SpongeBob has (these are his lives) Golden Spatulas are needed to unlock new areas of Bikini Bottom. Mr. Krabs can sell us golden shiny objects for 3,000 regular shiny objects.

Lo jugue cuando era niño, y tenia miedo de que no fuera como lo recuerdo, pero me di muy buena sorpresa y lo disfrute bastante, para ser un juego de niños no tiene un nivel absurdamente facil y sigue siendo tanto desafiante como interesante de explorar.

A genuinely fun platformer that captures the charm and absurdity of the original while giving it a modern facelift. From the vibrant environments to the satisfying movement and abilities, it nails that classic collectathon feel without becoming overly frustrating. One of its biggest strengths is how much of the original voice cast returns, which really helps preserve the show’s personality. That said, the few characters who were recast are noticeably bad (Mr. Krabs in particular doesn't sound like him at all.) breaking immersion at times, especially if you’re familiar with the original performances. Gameplay wise, it’s mostly smooth sailing, but there are moments where the game logic doesn’t quite hold up particularly when it comes to collectibles. Some requirements or placements feel unintuitive, making progression occasionally confusing rather than challenging. Where the game shines again is in its replayability. It’s great to experience with friends, whether you’re taking turns or just enjoying the chaos together. The robot boss fights are especially entertaining, offering a mix of spectacle and strategy that keeps things engaging. On a technical level, it performs excellently on the Steam Deck, running smoothly and making it a solid pick for portable play. Overall, Rehydrated is a faithful and enjoyable remake with a few rough edges. It’s not perfect, but for fans of platformers or SpongeBob in general, it’s an easy recommendation.
