i can't recommend the game in its current state for $15. this game was great during the free alpha and debatably the steamfest demo. EA release has been a disaster. - marketboard has been taken over by dupers. it has since shut down and we have not been able to trade in general for the last week. granted, phil did hire some backend devs to fix the server-sided issues, but this is still a crazy situation when you remember phil had almost a YEAR to implement and fix this, but he didn't. which goes to my next issue.. - phil, the main dev, cannot prioritize things properly. there has been bugs with parties since alpha, and it hasn't been fixed yet. he has had several months to fix this, but instead he just releases new classes and nerfs everything that's remotely fun (excluding paladin and priest for whatever reason) - as stated before, parties do not work. you also get much much much less EXP/farm gains when you join one. if you remember the "tag" mechanic in most RO servers, it works that way; the more the party member tags a single mob, the more exp you guys gain. which doesn't work very well when everyone nukes everything with the proper gearing/minmaxing. not only do parties not work, but guilds and server chat also do not work. so you're playing a group-based MMORPG but all the group mechanics don't work properly, essentially cucking yourself - the amount of bots i see past level 70 maps are insane. they just sit there spamming a cycle of skills, die, come back, run to the exact pinpoint location, and repeat. reporting feels pointless, they just keep flooding the damn place. you played iRO? it's basically that but imagine 8x the population. - nobody wants to party in this game because of the issues above. if you play this game, please play with friends. you can't with a guild because it's broken and doesn't work. lol. lmao. - the servers crash and lag every single day. he keeps saying it's fixed, but i'm still disconnecting all the time. especially at around 1 AM PST, it's just unplayable. - everything feels so pointless in this game. yeah, i get it, you just farm and grind until you're satisfied. but no gvg? broken pvp? a 100-floor copy paste mob tower simulator for the endgame? this is stuff allowed in F2P games, not P2P. drops are candy, you're only farming to minmax your stats at the end of the day. i will change my review when the game improves. otherwise, this has been a terrible near-two week release. which is a real shame, the game showed a lot of promise and itched the ol' farm and grind 2000s korean mmorpg experience. but with these issues, the game is honestly unplayable at level 80+.

Just played the game and accused me for botting and got me banned The game can't distinguish between a real player and a bot. The bot detection system is a real failure.
游戏里面老外骂你不能还嘴,不然立马封号 而且汉化基本属于没有,服务器一天到晚卡死
This game doesn't have Bot-protection system and GM just randomly run around, banned whoever they think might be botting or using macro. If you somehow brainlessly vibing and farm without thinking, the GM will teleport or randomly in the map, and if you don't act like "OMG how did this happen ?" you will get banned. that's how they detect botting right now. if you don't have gameplay video recording, which you will not, they won't unban you. unless you beg them and worship like almighty GM, only then they will. False banning by noob GM is killing this game, BTW the one using real bot still out there.
i played this game and got banned with no reason, all i know is i what playing with my wizard lightining put it in a corner of a map to dismantle my artifacts and see which one should i keep, this took times, still in my inventory to sort things out and got kicked out and permanant ban. i do believe all the negative reviews in this game is true since it happened to me. you dont need to believe me, just buy the game and test it yourself and good luck.
Hi i am a Weaver, and this review definitely has some salt in it, but hear me out. I genuinely wanted to enjoy SpiritVale, but after investing my time and effort into this game, I’ve reached the point where I can’t recommend it to anyone. The biggest problem for me is how the dev handles the botting issues and how the nerfs come in in bid to stop that. The result? Legitimate players are the ones paying the price. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend time building and playing a character properly, only to have it weakened because of what bots are doing. What makes it worse is the way patches and balance changes are handled. The game often feels like it makes kneejerk decisions — characters get nerfed or changed, and all the time and effort you invested into building them can suddenly feel wasted when the next patch arrives. There also seems to be a serious bias in balancing. Some classes that are already dominating DPS continue to get buffed or remain untouched, while classes trying to catch up somehow end up getting nerfed again. With an already small player base, you would think the priority would be creating a healthier and more balanced game, not making the gap between classes even wider. I’m also uncomfortable with how much influence the developer appears to give to a private Ko-fi group of early playtest supporters. From a player’s perspective, it creates the impression that major decisions are being heavily influenced by a small group of people rather than by the wider player base or the actual state of the game. At times, it honestly feels like the developer isn’t playing the game from the perspective of an ordinary player. And ultimately, there’s no sense of security for your investment of time. If one class can effectively be killed off because of a balance decision(in light of zerk now weaver), what’s stopping another class from being next patch? Why should players spend hundreds of hours building a character when there’s no confidence that their class, build, or playstyle will still be viable after the next update? That’s the part that bothers me the most. Players invest their time because they care about the game. That time should mean something. I don’t expect every patch to be perfect, and I understand that balancing an online game is difficult. But I do expect developers to understand the impact their decisions have on the people who actually play their game. The player base is already small, the classes are still far from balanced, and yet the balance seems to be getting more skewed rather than better. Personally, I just don’t think anyone should have to go through what this game has put its players through. I wouldn’t recommend SpiritVale in its current state.
After 700 hours of farming all my gear, I decided to grind again for the new equips and sets when they released the new map. Then I got manually banned for botting just because I'm playing Wizard standing still and spamming all my skills using a controller. The controller auto-targets nearby mobs anyway, so apparently using a feature that the game supports can now get you banned. I appealed and received a generic response saying I was botting without them even properly checking what happened. This is honestly pure power tripping. They can just ban you and accuse you of botting without properly investigating even when this is clearly part of the game's design. The game supports controllers to make farming easier, not to get players banned for using them. After spending 700 hours farming all my gear, this is how I get treated.
The game appears to be maintained by a very small development team that relies heavily on AI-assisted coding. This has raised concerns about the stability and maintainability of the infrastructure, particularly as the servers experience frequent restarts despite supporting a player base of around 10,000 users. There are also concerns regarding the game’s moderation practices. Players have reportedly been banned for alleged botting or macro usage without sufficient evidence or transparent verification. This creates the perception of inconsistent and potentially arbitrary enforcement, which can undermine player confidence in the administration of the game. Overall, the combination of recurring server instability and questionable moderation practices raises serious concerns about the game’s technical management and operational standards.
was excited about the new maps last month, but they just make every characters literally black(shadow) and call them "NEW MONSTERS" which is kind of sloppy... new items are also not interesting ... the nerfs and balances prove that the dev team has zero concept and has no idea what they are doing. And Bots and speedhackers everywhere, no anticheat system, and the way they verify a bot is hire some random players to pm other players and see if they reply or not which is really antiquated. Because of Lack of end game content, really really poor management and Dev team (they should fire the entire team and hire a new one) and boring update, I would not recommend for now. Maybe come back when there is a really big update or after the EA end. (if the game still exist)
